  1. RSAP only I think, I've never examined it to check, only ever got my last couple of phones working with an app, MDI in glove box and Jack in jumbo box
  2. You can just make out the scratch in one of the pictures, I'll take a closer one tomorrow, Services were at Oct 2010 at 21k Mar 2011 at 40k Sept 2011 at 58k including brake fluid May 2012 at 76k Jul 2012 at 79k belt and tensioner done and I had them change front bearings before I took delivery, all these done at progress letchworth Sept 2013 at 97k including brake fluid change done at TTS road sport in kempston Last one Nov 2014 at 116k at progress Bedford. Been told new car is in UK and should (fingers crossed) be ready next week. Anything else feel free to ask.
  3. Couple of ammendments i forgot and a link to pics added New car arriving soon so it's time to sell up 2010 fl model, race blue 121k miles (hides it well) Factory zenons with washers Columbus Heated seats Blue tooth hands free (rsap version) Electric sunroof DSG Maxi dot and Jumbo box Cruise control Front and rear parking sensors Rear sun screen and under parcel shelf net Full service history, including recent DSG service (nov) cambelt in 2012 Both keys supplied Rear pads and disks changed within last year plus front pads (New front discs and pads also included in sale ,not fitted as still plenty of life left) Will have a new MOT as of this weekend Negative points Scratch on touch screen, plus voice control doesn't work, sure it used to but never used anyway, possible coding issue? Also when using MDI no sound from right side, was supposed to be sorted under warrantee never done but suspected to be cable from head unit to glove box socket.again never used due to onboard storage on Columbus. Brake wear indicator currently coded out as socket damaged but now repaired. (As stated above new discs and pads included) Strange sited dent on leading edge of rear door, was there at purchase, looks easy repair but never risked it in case of paint cracking. 1 scratched wheel all others fine. If scrutinised small scuff on drivers rubbing strip. Not visible if not pointed out. Body work otherwise mint. Hand brake has the common split in the sliding trim which is only visible when hand brake is up. I'm not in any major rush to sell and believe £7500 is a good price, its been hard to decide a price as this spec is seldom available and prices seem to vary so much. All reasonable offers considered. This has been the best car I've had, been a pleasure to drive and will be sad to see it go. Feel free to ask any questions. Located in Cambridgeshire Hopefully link below works for you guys, seems ok here, https://plus.google.com/photos/103461715637001834687/albums/6120132823465100145
  4. What's the etiquette on contacting a dealer for a price match? Is it a tad out of order just emailing stating an existing quote and asking to match or is it the best course of action to go in face to face?
  5. Been to look at a cupra today, was lovely, I'm not overly keen on trade in's and the pittance I was offered hasn't changed my view, the size isn't an issue as the Octavia has always been far bigger than I've needed.still unsure on how I'll purchase, probably edging towards PCP although there are still slight doubts in the back of my mind over whether its a sound way to buy having never used credit before. Did briefly pop into Skoda just to view a mk3 vRS and then remembered on my way home that the particular dealer has quoted me already via carwow, doh.plus points on the Skoda is that its available with a heated screen and keyless start however I've done without for 17 odd years so I can't say its a deal breaker. Have to weigh up the pro's and con's now.
  6. I'm almost certain to turn away from Skoda, after a mk1 fabia vRS followed by my current fl mk2 Octavia vRS I'm really being swayed by the cupra, till a couple of weeks ago I'd always planned a mk3 but I'm really tempted by the Leon, I've been more than impressed with the Octavia, best car I've had, it is very nearly fully specced , practicaly every box was ticked and that's what's swaying it to some extent, the Leon has all the equipment I was looking for and the octy would need options added to get to the same level, so yes it will cost a little more but in my eyes probably worth it. My only real dilemma is finance, never had credit before, I'm not 100% in favour of it but it does make sense in many ways. Only other point is I loath to trade in, I vowed not to trade in the fabia, I could have waited to sell but the convenience got the better off me, i can't help but think you get stiffed on the deal every time.

  8. First off big thank-you to DGW for his assistance this afternoon with his magic cable. Long story short, a couple of days ago my DPF light came on with a warning to refer to the manual, as last time (a couple of months ago) I drove in sport mode for all journeys, I do 60 miles a day to get to work and back, I rarely do short trips, this didn't clear the light and then on my way to work yesterday at 4 AM the glow plug light came on and the car is now in limp mode, after a scan its showing 2 codes, 008194 and 009315, full log to be posted shortly, I just need to edit all non information out, looking online this seems to suggest the all too common potential full DPF or faulty pressure sensor. anyone know how serious it is? my problem is I need a car to get to work, the first garage I rang cant look at it for 2 weeks which is no good to me, il be trying a couple more tomorrow to see if I can get it looked at sooner. im currently borrowing my mothers car but she needs it from Tuesday onwards, so my question is, can she use my car (providing she can reach the pedals) on a temporary basis whilst im using hers? she only goes across town in the early hours of the morning for work no more than a couple of miles, or is it best not to use it at all, I don't want to chance writing off the filter and having to replace it if it doesn't end up needing it. since it went into limp mode what with having to get back from work its done approx. 50-60 miles, do I risk it?? oh nearly forgot for reference the car is currently showing just short of 98k miles if that makes a difference cheers
  9. mines got them, not many have by all accounts, i was fortunate that mine had almost every option ticked when built
  10. morris

    Why?

about a month ago i had the pleasure of returning to my car and finding that some **** had scraped along the whole length of the drivers side, oddly enough the space next to me was deserted. managed to polish out on the metal work but there are a couple of deep scratches on the rubbing strip down to the plastic, its not noticeable at a glance but i know its there and that winds me up. so fortunate that nothing was dented
  11. i had a set of 17's on my old fabia, i thought they worked quite well, give em a shot, its your car dude
  12. progress in bedford had a white estate sitting in front of the showroom this afternoon, looks saaalright, whites not my cup of tea. wouldnt mind the seats tho
  13. happened to notice those too along with these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ES958EN-8-HD-Car-DVD-Player-Sat-Nav-PiP-iPod-TV-3D-VW-PASSAT-SKODA-CADDY-BORA-/230743893202?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item35b96864d2 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ES786EU-7-HD-Car-DVD-Player-Sat-Nav-iPod-PiP-2-Button-LED-VW-PASSAT-BORA-SKODA-/220954146132?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3371e4b554 im intrigued although i have a columbus so im not thinking of buying. seem pretty fully featured and pretty good rip off of the columbus indeed very cheap for what they offer, although without someone having bought one to test its not an easy task making a decision. surely someone must have one?
  14. i presume i have the old bluetooth in my 2010 fl vRS. it wouldnt work with my HTC desire HD, just said phone not compatible and attempted pairing with previous owners galaxy s2. however after downloading an app from http://android-rsap.com/ i can now connect perfectly. call logs show, calls work but ive yet to see if messages appear on maxidot, you have to be rooted and the app only works with htc and samsungs but for some of us this is an ideal work around. there is a free version that just works long enough for you to try before you buy. full version cost £7.50 which compared to a new bluetooth module is a bargin i assure you will agree
  15. still cant figure it out, tried my sisters iphone not sure if its a 4 or 4s and it was the same only sound through the passenger side.
