How Do We Use Cookies?
SkimLinks
Skimlinks helps us monetize editorial content through automated affiliate links for products. The following cookies are used by SkimLinks:
kimGUID : A unique identifier given to each computer to allow log analysis to determine the number of unique users for various parts of skimresources.com and redirectingat.com. Lifetime: Deleted after 10 years. You can opt-out of the Skimlinks Optimization cookie here.
OPTOUT : Used to identify users who wish to opt out of the Skimlinks tracking by skimGUID on skimlinks.com, skimresources.com and redirectingat.com. Lifetime: Deleted after 10 years.
TEST : Used to confirm that your browser is able to accept cookies. Lifetime: Deleted when the browser is closed.
Advertising Cookies:
Advertising cookies are used to provide the most relevant adverts to you according to what areas you look at on the website, your IP address and geographical location.
We use a third party vendor, Google Adsense managed by SnackMedia, to drop cookies to serve ads based on a user"s prior visits to the website. Google"s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users that are based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites across the Internet. AdSense sends a cookie to the user"s browser after any impression, click or other activity that results in a call to Adsense servers. If the browser accepts the cookie, the cookie is stored on the browser. Most commonly, AdSense sends a cookie to the browser when a user visits a page that shows Google ads. Pages with Google ads include ad tags that instruct browsers to request ad content from our servers. When the server delivers the ad content, it also sends a cookie. But a page doesn’t have to show Google ads for this to happen; it just needs to include Adsense ad tags, which might load a click tracker or impression pixel instead. Users can opt out of ads personalisation by following the instructions here and will no longer receive personalised advertising from Google.
