  1. looks to me this is for the new octy 3 only nav systems, ie new MIB columbus, not RNS510
  2. you need to leave the wiper stalk in the Auto position, ie, the first position. This activates the rain sensor. Then, switch off the car, then try the cup of water over the rain sensor
  3. 495 length, 198 stroke, so even shorter than the Audi a3 bonnet strut suggested
  4. Hi. just a thought, your tdi is a 56 plate, so it will be a PD engine, which means you are unlikely to have a DPF... DPF only came fitted to CR octavia as far as I am aware. perhaps problem is elsewhere?
  5. no blinds required if you have good tints... I have tinted all my cars since 2003 including a octavia hatch and now an octavia estate. Sun never bothers the kids in the back and can see out perfectly through mirror, etc. Rear view dimming mirror also works fine.
  6. thanks Silver, but I've already got them installed... did that a while back and bought the parts from skodaparts.com. Very reliable and even cheaper than ebay. It also tell you the part numbers for the plug and cables. The magical bit of info is the electronic trickery which I am no wizard in Sherlock's comment above was "a couple of wirring looms with bulb warning cancellors fitted and then fitting the led fogs"... I was looking for this in a dummies guide... buy parts x and do steps a, b, c
  7. Hi Sherlock, did you get a chance to do the dummies guide for this? I would really like to get it finished but wouldn't know the parts to use.
  8. I've done this to mine a while back but also have the bulb warning on. Anyone near Edinburgh willing to help me find a coding solution for this? Will post some pics tomorrow.
  9. the one i ordered above from skodaparts had all the clips required. it really was a 2 minute job.
  10. I ordered and installed it on my TSI FL MY2010 from http://www.skodaparts.com/. Here is the link: http://www.skodaparts.com/product/octavia-bonnet-insulation-2004-2013-31893
  11. https://www.dectane.de/index.php?cat=c1758_SKODA-Octavia-1Z-Facelift.html Will order a pair myself when I get back from holiday Paulo
  12. Finally here... I have been keeping an eye on the Dectane site after getting the led rear lights for my estate. Dectane finally have a plug and forget solution for facelift models. Check this out. https://www.dectane....-v--passat.html Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) going abroad for the next month, but will order a pair as soon as I am back. My Led conversion is now almost complete Paulo
  13. Go for it. They look great on my estate, and kids in the back never complain about the sun. I actually chose not to order it with the factory tints, and as soon as the car arrived in the dealers, I sent over my pal who does the tints. Some pics for you.
  14. Quick 1 minute job... use a small screw driver to pull the plastic screen off...
