  1. ID4 GT looks nice. Line manager has an Ipace as says its very sporty & handles much like his diesel BMW did 95g seems quite high. Certainly higher than my GTE Passat Estate
  2. On LBC last night the nighty financial slot around 5.30pm said retailers had also added an average of 6p/litre to recover costs from last year's shutdowns on top of the lovely fuel accelerator which sees 60% of a litre price going to HMRC. Certainly making lots of people I know relook at electric cars.
  3. Has a point given rumblings of further restrictions coming
  4. Our UK team has a Germany visit planned end of November. I can see Germany adding UK visitor restrictions again if we carry on the way we are going.
  5. I read recently majority of 'recyclable' plastic can only go round the system 5 times before it has to be destroyed/landfilled. As soon as you increase the recyclable to virgin rate (eg 30% rPET) that number goes down. It also increases nano plastics which we then consume in our food. Then there's plant based plastics. They still take many years to degrade (some still 200+ years), and contaminate normal petroleum plastics in the recycling system. So yes, Boris is correct though as usual didn’t articulate it very well
  6. Exactly what I mentioned earlier. Boris delays could mean restrictions until March 2022. Quoted as on the sky live update page 3h ago 08:58 Claims COVID Plan B could cost up to £18bn are 'untrue' - Number 10 We reported earlier claims by POLITICO that Boris Johnson has been told his COVID Plan B could cost up to £18bn (see 8.24am post). Claims also emerged that this contingency plan could remain in place for five months, until the end of March 2022. A government spokesperson has now insisted these presumptions are "untrue" and "do not reflect government policy". A statement added: "We knew the coming months would be challenging, which is why we set out our Autumn and Winter plan last month. "Plan B ensures we are ready, should we need to act, to avoid an unsustainable rise in hospitalisations which would put unsustainable pressure on the NHS. "The presumptions put forward here are untrue, and do not reflect government policy.
  7. Let me explain. Unlike many, I've followed everything asked. I still wear a mask and follow advice. But many aren't. On top of this we have a government who doesn't have a clue. So I'm finally very close to the "why should I bother anymore" camp. If there's any lockdown and a repeat of another ruined Christmas because Boris fails to act many will rebel. Can see it bringing down Boris as well.
  8. For me it's the waiting until its too late. Why we had lockdowns from Dec into Jan. If we'd have followed advice from experts in Nov, we might have shortened or avoided it IMO. Almost exactly a year later and we're facing the same. If a plan B/C/D/E isn't put in place soon I can see another rubbish Christmas coming. I won't blame people who defy it either this time. I think most of us will.
  9. Tetanus is no longer given as boosters. Certainly not when I asked. Apparently its now for life? As for the lockdown part, no one wants that despite what some may claim. Masks are quite a sensible option, but only work if the majority wear them to prevent passing anything they have on to others. Quite telling the countries that have dropped them are seeing cases stay high. Before Sweden is mentioned they look great using per million as they has a small population. Change to per 10k or per 100k and suddenly they look extremely bad.
  10. Assuming you have done a test to rule out Covid.... If not, I would as know people who thought they just had colds. Work colleague being an example who's on week 2 of being off. I've had mine for 3 weeks and it's very up and down. Mostly snotty, occasional cough. Asda night & day is what I've been using along with all the usual (feed a cold, keep up fluids etc. Thought I'd kicked last week, yet Saturday came back just as bad. Expert's saying because everyone was wearing masks last year, it prevented/lessened many who had colds passing them on. That's the benefit of masks Can't say I know anyone who had anything more than sniffles last winter.
  11. Don't the rigs pay very very well? Not sure people's morals will see them swapping that for minimum wage in Aldi
  12. Truly saddening news. Echo that whatever the political view, this is a time to reflect a life lost unnecessarily
