Hi all
i I am asking this on behalf of my brother in west Australia.
His 2013 Scout isn’t starting. It started with having battery problems so had a new battery fitted and after this the Columbus radio unit wouldn’t turn off and just kept saying updating this was flattening the battery overnight. At this point it was taken to the ŠKODA dealers in Perth who said they couldn’t do anything as the car was too old. So he took it to a car audio specialist who recommended fitting an aftermarket pioneer head unit and the adapter to interface it with all the ŠKODA systems. Since this has been fitted the car will not start and says gearbox isn’t in park, so won’t start. It was towed away from audio place and a local European car specialist has tried to diagnose with his scanner and it shows no communication with the gearbox.
has anyone got any ideas what could be going on with it.
Sorry about the long post but he is at his wits end, and ŠKODA isn’t a well supported brand in Australia.
