  1. You will not be able to code your navigation directly with VCDS because of the old CAN 1.6 bus used. Instead you will have to put this navigation in some car with native CAN 2.0 bus and do the required coding there. But try to upgrade firmware first, I recommend the firmware version 4120 because it may solve your problem with the current coding too.
  2. Pre-FL Fabia has CAN 1.6 bus while RNS510 supports only CAN 2.0 bus, so the corresponding adapter is required for correct operation. IMHO currently Canshack offers the most functional adapter here: http://www.canshack.de/skoda/fabia/can-adapter-rns-510-t5-touareg-polo-9n3-golf-4-bora.html, but there are cheaper alternatives available too.
  3. Nexus (MFD2) should have a "switched +UB" output on the back. Also for RNS510 and a lot of other OEM units the "switched CDC" output can be used as a remote.
  4. Yes, under Setup->Navigation. And if you do not want to listen to anything, then the easiest way will be to activate Aux input under Setup->Media and then select Aux source under Media. Columbus will remember this selection and you will not have to turn volume down each time when Columbus is switched on.
  5. Most likely this connector is called "RAKU II" and the corresponding female connector is called "RAST II". In FL Octavias they are replaced with FAKRA connectors.
  6. There are two types of RNS-510 displays - with CCFL backlight and with LED backlight, be sure to get the right one. I assume that your Superb has a LED backlight if this navigation was installed from the factory. I recommend to disassemble your unit first - front panel is held by 4 screws, display PCB by some 6-8 screws and few locking tabs.
  7. These issues are not related to coding. - to fix MFSW and Maxidot problems in pre-FL Octavia you need to load modified Columbus firmware. If you currently have a 4020, then you can quickly update it with this - http://depositfiles.com/files/ee1axt3aa - 7P6 035 730 F is not compatible with Maxidot in pre-FL Octavia and there will be no Phone menu, however you can fully control your phone from Columbus. - your CAN gateway is ok, no battery drain problem with it.
  8. Speed information is available only when the hidden Testmode menu is activated. There you can see the real speed according to GPS data under menu Navigation->Matched position, and speed from vehicle sensors under CAN menu.
  9. It will work, but there will be no information on Maxidot and no control via steering wheel/steering stalk buttons due to missing support for BAP protocol.
  10. Part numbers are 1Z0 035 577 C for pre-FL and 5L6 035 577 for FL. Here is a thread in Russian how to install it: http://forum.skoda-club.ru/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=56545&start=30#p1014591
  11. No, aerial wires are separate parts. And amplifiers are powered by a phantom power from head unit via aerial wires, there is no special wiring for them.
  12. It includes all cables and connectors in read lid. It may work. Touran has AM/FM aerial in rear right window and additional FM aerial in rear left window if aerial diversity option is installed.
  13. A bit more information - the second aerial in demister is used only for Octavia A5 sedans, for combi (Estate) second aerial is integrated into the rear right side window. To convert a sedan demister to aerial, a new wiring set for rear lid with integrated frequency filters is required too, part number for pre-FL is 1Z5 971 147 B. Maybe these filters can be fitted separately from other models like VW Passat (part numbers 3C5 035 570 C for positive and 3C5 035 570 B for negative leads).
  14. Check your wiring - for voice control microphone wires must be connected to Columbus first, then to BT module as described here: http://www.my-gti.com/1234/volkswagen-rns-510-microphone-connection-for-voice-control
