  1. Hi, There is a small market for pristine, low mileage Favorits, and they do seem to be slowly appreciating in value. A couple have recently sold for £1440, (20k miles) and somewhere close to £2000. (Almost no miles, around 3k if I recall!) I personally have a virtually as new 14k miles Favorit myself that isn't for sale, but should I sell it at some point, I'd consider somewhere between the 2 figures above reasonable. The blue ebay example probably proves that around £2k is about the current limit, as it's been up for sale for ever at £2,600 and it's still there!! If the one you have in mind needs "a bit of work" chances are you'll not be able to sell it at close to the above prices, as people are paying for the original paint, unrestored, time warp condition. That said, if when finished, yours is properly restored to a high standard, you can probably expect up to £1000 for it if the mileage is reasonable. Therein lies the rub though... to get a tatty car to excellent standard might cost you close to it's sale value, but that's usually the case with classic cars! It's a labour of love, theres no money in it, apart from at the exotic end of the market...
  2. Probably doesn't matter now as your selling it, but you don't ask Skoda for Favvy parts anymore! Most good trade counters, Andrew Page, Euro car parts, or ebay will easily get you what you need & at a much lower cost than they would have been at a Skoda dealer
  3. Hi, Nice favvy Regarding parts, all service parts like wishbones, bushes etc are readily available for the Favorit, in fact most of the running gear is exactly the same as the early Felicia anyway. Body parts are more difficult, but it doesn't look like you need any yet! Your clock is interesting in that it appears to be a Mk1 clock, but your car is Mk2. They pack up all the time though, so it's probably been changed for what was available at the time.
  4. I think this is a great idea, I've tried numerous times to get parts for Favorits shipped over from Czech and never had any joy. I really don't know why they are all so averse to posting to the UK!
  5. Just to update everyone on this, having looked at the car now, it seems its already wired for all possible options (Not that there were many in any case!!)
  6. Hi all, Does anyone happen to know offhand if a 1994 LkiE would be prewired for the Rev counter, IE, can I upgrade to the Rev counter instruments without any further wiring?
  7. Thanks, it's just the back piece I need, as mine's a Hatchback, the front bit's just for the estate
  8. Indigomew, Sorry to hear the car is being scrapped. I might be interested in the rear parcel shelf if its the type with 6 "tray" indentations rather than 3, and it's in good, undamaged condition. Let me know please.
  9. I have to take issue with this, maybe Mk1 Favorits, but later Mk2 Favorits actually have less rust prone areas than Felicias. (with the exception of the doors, which are Galvanised on the Felicia) It's just a matter of age and lack of care that kills Favorits, given time, Felicias will suffer at least as badly unless exceptionally well maintained. Now, if you want real rust resistance, get yourself an early Fabia, truly superb body build quality with 100% double sided Galvanised steel throughout
  10. Spaldi01, When I tell people this, they usually, at first, don't believe it! When you run them through the whole thing from drilling for oil, refining it and transport to the pump, they get it, and it just blows their minds when it finally clicks It also, utterly blows the already invalid argument of "well it's just as polluting, you've just moved the emissions to the power station" out of the water!
  11. Have a look at what Tesla are doing, and the Model X just launched that can tow 5000lbs and has a range in excess of 250 miles with supercharging in 30 minutes, (whilst you toilet break!) and 4x4 performance to blow your mind...Maybe not mainstream affordable, but new tech never is, in 15 years, this will be minimum spec, affordable stuff. As for your old commute, you're not keeping up, there are several affordable EV's that can do this right now, the Kia Soul to name but one, if you want a Yeti sized car Hell, I could do that in my home built Favorit EV if I drove carefully lol!!
  12. Hmmm.... lots of Diesel heads on here I see Well they used to tell us smoking was good for us too... Maybe I will be wrong, but I think Diesel is going to die a death for passenger cars. Even if it doesn't, the internal combustion engine will be laughed at and unwanted within the next 15 years as long range, rapid charge electrics become ever more available with battery storage density increases.
  13. This Diesel situation has only just begun, It'll be much wider than just VAG group and when people realize the great big con of "clean" Diesel, they'll become about as socially acceptable as smoking inside is now... I'd stay well clear of any Diesel variants, residuals are about to fall through the floor.
