No need to worry at all. Between me and my close family we have loads of Skodas. Octavias, Fabias, Petrol, Diesel, vRS, Elegance, L&K and more basic, current models and previous models. They are good cars with good performance and reliability. Like previous posters have said, people usually come on here to get help with faults so you really do only see the negative side. So in conclusion, no need to worry at all. Hope that helps Forgot to say. We like them so much that my dad has just ordered his 3rd new Octavia L&K estate and one of my brothers is currently looking to get another new fabia

I have a 2010 Octavia vRS and the bonnet release handle in the cabin has stopped working. It still moves but nothing happens. Does anyone know what the problem may be? If so, how can I fix it? I would really appreciate your help. I tried to get a hayne manual but there doesn't appear to be one for this model. Kind regards Simon

nutcracker - I would say that the most important thing is getting in both cars and seeing which one suits your driving style the best. When you do the maths and take into account the extra cost for the diesel cars and the fact that diesel costs slightly more per litre you realise that over the first couple of years your overall spend won't be much different. Do the calculations and you'll see what I mean.

Want to know price, engine, performance, what it looks like, basically anything. All I know at the moment is the expected date. Anything you can tell me would be great.

I am thinking of buying a new Fabia vRS but have read a lot about the brakes not being very good. Is this the case and if so what do you suggest? I have heard that Black Diamond discs and pads are meant to be really good. Does anyone know more about the ESP on the Fabia VRS as I was told by Skoda head quarters that it is not yet available and therefore no info could be sent. As some of you have it then it must be available already so what are they talking about?
