  1. I have just got myself a 61 plate Superb Combi, bought when my old 06 Superb died :-( Loving it all so far ( feels like a different car all together ) A couple of questions I have. 1) When I lift the back seats up there are wires that connect to a large black disc - what is this? 2) Under the drivers seat is a box containing what look like fuses or relays, again what is this.
  2. I got the Parrot MKI9200 a few weeks ago and have to say its very good. I currently have my HTC phone attached, a 16Gb usb drive with all my albums on, a 8Gb SD card with audiobooks on and the kids plug in their IPOD classic on occasion. All work great and are controled from the steering wheel. I tried the AUX in with the Ipod but you had no control over it with the controls (song selection etc) The Major drawback is you cant have the satnav interupt your music .
  3. Had my car now over 3 months and have a couple of questions regarding bits and pieces. 1) In front of the aeriel is a small round disc with holes in... what does that do 2) When I go to my car I hear the fans turning ? Are they solar powered?
  4. Its going good so far. The unit has "crashed" twice but both times on the same song so I put it down to a corrupted mp3 file. To rectify I simply unplugged the screen for a minute. The only other bug bear I have got is if your on the phone, then get into your car and turn the unit on it doesn`t pick the call up. It works better with a SD card than the USB (Faster boot up) , I would suggest checking the parrot forums for regular updates as they are on the ball with software updates.
  5. Luckily mine was under guarantee with the delaer as I had just bought it. No harm in asking though.
  6. I had problems with the sensors too. It beeped once when I put it into reverse then randomly beeped or sometimes not at all. It turns out one of the sensors was faulty. Dealer diagnosed it on the computer in minutes. The buttons is to disable the motion alarm so you can leave kids / dog in the car.
  7. The unit has 3 main components. 1) The main "brains" amplifier which I have sat behind the glove box 2) The screen which is wired (USB mini connector) 3) The control wheel which is wireless and I have strapped on the steering wheel . I have then taken out the dash ashtray and put the usb / ipod / line in connector in there. I have put the screen below the rev counter so its out of the way but visible to me when driving. The usb drive works well and it also has a in-built SD card reader in the screen. There are only 2 drawbacks so far 1) The unit volume is controlled by the wheel but I keep going to the DX volume instead! 2) The USB/SD control doesn`t have random play. Pics at weekend hopefully.
  8. Just thought I`d tell you about my new purchase that is the business! I bought the Parrot MKi9200 bluetooth kit. Installed in the Superb in about 40 minutes, hooked up to my phone in less than a minute. It allows you to plug in a pen drive , SD card, Ipod (which it charges) and it loads up all the tracks, album art etc. It also has a line in to attach any MP3 player. It plugs straight into the DX unit and has its own amp which sounds very good. I have routed the input cable to the ashtray so I can change the pen drive whenever I want. I`ve got a cheap 16Gb usb drive loaded with plenty of albums.
  9. Got my lead today, the blue wire has ANTENNA REMOTE written on it? Any ideas?
  10. I think it would somewhat replace the head unit and using the touch screen it will be totally controlled from the PDA Looks like this guy has gone one step further 1998 Volkswagen Passat - MP3Car.com
  11. I have looked into it further and some PDA`s now come with USB Host to enable you to plug in any USB device including a hard drive. 1 Guy has even got one working with a 1TB external drive. Another possibility is to feed the sound out via bluetooth to a hidden receiver.
  12. Had my Superb for 10 days now and almost everything is perfect apart from 4 irritating things. 1) The centre console pop out tray thingy will not close! It pushes too but doesn`t catch. Hence anything I put in it vibrates like hell. 2) The passanger seat belt rubs against the leather seat giving a really annoying squeek! 3) The folding mirrors are not automatic, thats to say I need to remember to close them before I open the driver door, and to open them before i set off. 4) I keep catching the key fob in my pocket causing all the windows to open !!

  14. I really dont want to replace my head unit. Also the sound out of the hp214 is surprisingly good. I also want the flexibility of the PDA software, i.e. be able to play videos, get e-mails, link to the internet etc when i`m stationary. The largest SD card is around 64GB now so no issue with staorage.
  15. Just wondered if anyone uses a PDA for their in car ICE system? I have an IPAQ 214 and use mortplayer as the media player. It has car skins that are easy to use as you drive and also you can download loads of really cool skins. My only concern is the cable mess, The PDA would need a 12v supply and the audio out to the stereo. If it would work I`m sure it would be a total system all in one.
