  1. Spotted today at the Goodwood Breakfast Club, a 1962 Skoda Octavia Combi in original unrestored condition. According to the driver it is one of only 7 of these cars in the UK. This is the first time I've see on of these in the flesh and it is rather remisicent of a Volvo Amazon. Although the Gear positioning was rather unusual. It looks like a mirror image with 1st is top right and 4th is where 2nd would be on a modern car. Just completed 1000 mile trip from Prague to Gosport and now up for sale to raise money for The Haven Childrens Centre in Gosport. http://i1116.photobu...ec/DSCF8610.jpg http://i1116.photobu...ec/DSCF8613.jpg http://i1116.photobu...ec/DSCF8614.jpg I have no connection with The centre or the driver, but I thought someone on here may be interested. If you want more information I suggest you contact The Haven Centre on (01329) 232095
  2. Here are a couple of pictures of the sunlight shining through some lavander heads on my Octavia vRS

  4. I got 14.5k miles out of the factory fit Conti 2 on my 2009 Octy VRS 170 CR DSG. There was a little tread left, but heading in to the winter at the time I didn't fancy leaving it any longer.
  5. I am doing exactly that. I have managed to manually strip most of the chrome using a stanley knife blade and patients. much of it peels on in strips, but I'm now lest with the fidly bits. I started where the Skoda badge fits so that any scratches in the palstic wouldn't be seen.
  6. Is there an easy way to remove the chrome?
  7. Mark Not sure about Petrol vRS, but my Diesel vRS cost £159 for it's first service at 18,300 miles. I supplied the oil. This was done by Freebournes in Southampton who are still an authorised Skoda Service Agent. Service was excelent. Chris
  8. Right I see that now. Then you either use the MFSW buttons or extra buttons on the end andbottom of the wiper switch.
  9. According to the brouchure, it is £285 as a Factory Fit option with an alarm. Not sure what it would cost as a retrofit.
  10. According to the Brouchure Maxidot is only available with the DSG gearbox. However there is a thread where someone had it retro fitted recently. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/202798-retro-fitted-maxidot-on-fl/ Is yours a manual or DSG gearbox?
  11. I live near Portsmouth so can pop in to Furneaux Riddall next week if still needed.
  12. The new Octavia TSI vRS is here and I can't stop grinning.

  13. Just bought my 2nd Octavia vRS through Winchester Motor co. This was a revelation when compared with the fisrt vRS purchase via Sparshatts in Fareham. It will be a bit of a treck for servicing, but I'll probably make the effort for this level of service.
