Nearly forgot seeing as i am abusing the system (not being a freedom member).

Probably my last post on Briskoda as I have recently sold my Octy VRS mk1 and brought a whooping big 4x4. So in the style of the two Ronnies its goodbye from him, and goodbye from me.

Just to let you know I am now podded!!!! The 20 pin connector was correct. The problem was due to the fact that the main control box had not been preloaded with the Vag software. Must say though that the stereo was a b!tch to get back in with all those extra wires. Thanks for the advice

Am I right in thinking then that I should have been sent the 8 pin mini ISO lead (blue). I have been sent the 20 pin (big red thing) which replaces all of the top three connectors but when I connect the car ones to the other end wires from the link, match up with the yellow block which no wires go to. The leads that go to the IPOD still connect to the same place as the blue block but the stereo does not recognise the connection. I have earthed the black wire (the ipod charges OK). Can anybody help me. I am trying to connect a Dension Ice link plus to my Symphony HU. I have connected the male connector from the ice link:thumbdwn: into the HU and then plugged the male connector from the car into the female connector supplied with the ice link. The ipod is charging when I put it into the dock but the HU will not recognise anything is connected. Has anyone else managed to get it working? One thing that I have noticed is that when I connect the car plug into the ipod link the wires from the ice link go into the yellow block (from the car) which is empty. is this right?

When pulling away at pace I can keep the wheels spinnng (as without asr) the asr light flashes to kindly tell me that I am wheel spinning but it never seems to cut in to stop it. I know the roads are greasy but the point of traction control is to stop this. In the past all I got was a small squeak from the tyres and then less power and maybe a slight judder. The alloys were replaced but are still standard so shouldn't have a bearing on this problem.

Not sure if its a major problem (no warning lights on) but I am able to spin the front wheels even though the asr is on. Have only noticed it since I had a service and my alloys replaced. Could something have been disconnected and why isn't the warning light on? Out of warranty so would like to avoid dealer if posssible (unless they caused it).

I don't know if anyone else has had the same but whilst driving my Octy VRs at speed (legal) I opened the rear door window (hit the wrong button) and noticed a loud booming (like an excessive bass sound) that became more uncomfortable the more the back window opened but decreased when I opened the front. Would be a bugger if rear passengers wanted window open.

My sister-in-law has a 97 felicia in a burgandy colour (except for the rear arches which are now grey primer thanks to me)in the service book the paint code is L829. When I phoned the local dealer they couldn't find the colour from that code. I have found out that the Romantic Red paint code is 8290 does anyone know if this is the right colour?

Defo up for a pint (soft drink of course) although after work would be better as I work in Telford. The Skoda garage next to the VW garage in Bridgnorth is Faintree, they just moved the showroom first. Definately better than having to travel into the sticks (not had a card from them yet though). Did any of you know that the Telford Plod have got a black Octy Vrs. Saw it flying past work last week. Going like the clappers. Blue lights in the headlights and lower down begind the mesh either side of the bumper. Worth knowing !!!!!!
