  1. Skoda used to be the joke of the car industry then VW took over. Mechanically they improved dramatically but, as things have turned out, they are still a joke when it comes to service!
  2. Thanks for the link. Similar scenario to mine. If I don't get satisfaction this coming week it is a letter to the CEO of Skoda (any idea who he is please?) followed by a writ in his name. Hopefully that may focus their minds a bit Skoda customer services are a shower, they NEVER ring back and also tell lies. Don't think I will ever buy another one of their cars!
  3. Trading Standards is a good idea, thanks. I have no intention of giving up...it 's now a point of principle.
  4. Yes Nick, it's on the cards for next week. Thanks
  5. Thanks Paul. I don't have an issue with the dealer who has tried hard to help but 'Customer Service' simply do not return his calls. He is hitting his head against a wall! I also have made about 10 calls to Skoda, sent them high re. photo's etc. but with a total lack of response. They will really have to do something serious to get me to buy another car from the VW Group!
  6. They sent an inspector who checked the thickness of paint etc and he declared that he was "almost 100% sure" that the car had been damaged. I checked with the main dealer who supplied the car new and he confirmed that no work had been carried out by them and suggested that the damage and repair (if it exists) probably happened in transit from the factory. However, it seems that there is no record of this. If damage has indeed occured, Skoda are covering the matter up. In any event, it is not my problem and, as the matter has been going on since February, I am now considering legal action.
  7. Bought a new Octavia Estate 4 years ago and it is rusting. Skoda Warranty denied the claim on the basis that the car had been damaged and re-painted...which it hasn't. I took the matter up with the so called "Customer Services" who have shown no interest whatsoever. Until this episode I had been very happy with the car, so much so that I intended buying a Superb Estate this Autumn. Not so now. Don't deal with this company!
