  1. Quick update, the injectors are ok, looks like camshaft/followers fault, not going to be cheap
  2. Hi all, having an issue with my octy, it's a 1.9tdi 110pd, I'm pretty sure it's an injector fault, it's knocking and smoking ( did it for a while Thursday and cleared itself, now constant). Any tips on how to identify which injector is at fault or any other remedies?
  3. Thanks guys, TBH I was thinking of a Parrot unit, I had access to an older model in an old works van and it always worked perfectly.
  4. I think some winter tyres could be on the list for me, mine like many other 2WD vehicles couldn't make it up the rather steep hill by my house. I wish I'd taken a nice snow picture of the car after seeing the great pictures above.
  5. Thanks guys, it's good to know that I can still do a commute once the light comes on.
  6. Now that's how to clear a road.
  7. It was a very strange commute to work this morning, abandoned cars everywhere, the police have asked the owners to get them moved as the worst of the snow has gone and they're causing a hazard.
  8. ......have you driven with the fuel light on? Hi everyone, in my old car I knew I could safely travel 25 miles, so I'm curious how far my Octy will go.
  9. Evening all, at some point I'm planning to purchase a hands free kit for my car, what is everyone using? And if possible can I see some pictures to see how it looks fitted, I don't want anything too bulky that will stand out. Thanks in advance

  11. The old biddy who saw fit to wave her walking stick and shout at me I was travelling along a country lane which is a national speed limit stretch of road, I was doing roughly 40 (due to this section being a bit twisty) when I saw 3 pedestrians walking in the road on my side, my view was perfect so I indicated and passed the pedestrians giving them at least 2 metres of space, this is when the old lady started aggressively wafting her stick and shouting at me to slow down, I can only assume that she was walking her imaginary horse and I startled it
  12. Very sad news, only in her 50's too, R.I.P
  13. Evening all, today I purchased my new (to me) car, a 2008 TDI elegance estate, this is my second Octavia but first mk2 and I am very impressed so far, it drives beautifully and has enough extras to keep me and the clan happy, it didn't come with a handbook so I'll browse that section to learn how to get the most of the car. Hopefully this car will be as reliable as the old mk1 was and I'll have many years of happy motoring.
