Wheel nut keeps spining

20 April 2013 - 17:25

Had a really tight bolt, decided to yank really hard with the old breaker bar, now the bolt keeps spinning : |

Question is, what are the chances of needing a whole new hub or will it be a case having the bolt drilled out and new bolt fitted? If so, how much will it cost for both scenarios? Anybody had any experiences or have any top tips?

Thanks in advance

As above, genuine reason for sale, my DMF failed and I've gone for the SMF conversion with a new clutch.

Approx 7.5mm thickness.

Removed at Unit18 MK. I can post if required, but it isn't light!

Helix SMF clutch much lighter than Sachs organic

09 April 2013 - 23:15

Just had a Helix SMF/clutch kit fitted (normal fast road one) and it feels MUCH lighter than my Sachs performance DMF setup.......

Is this because SMF requires less clamping forces?

My DMF/ release bearing was on its lasts legs?

Or is this just normal?

Car feels more nippy like a petrol, with more power throught the gear range, but I miss the power delivery from the DMF if that makes any sense? Or do I need to change my driving style?

Any input would be great!

Many thanks

Fabia vRS uprated gearbox

I'm thinking of installing a newer (less mileage gearbox) seeing as the box is out atm. Just a thought.....is there such thing as a stronger one?
