Just got my Octavia RS serviced - the mechanic seemed to think it was the newish brake pads rubbing on something to do with the handbrake (some sort of locking plug in the disc)... He said they'd have to change the rear discs to get rid of the sound but it wasn't actually doing any harm.

My force use them as traffic cars, although they're a couple of years old now. The newer cars are BMW 530s for some reason. Most Traffic bobbies I know like them although prefer T5s for the open road - the vRS is considered an excellent 'town' traffic car though... one of the main reasons I'm getting one!

Hi all, new to the forums and soon to be the proud owner of an Octavia vRS! I have 5 years NCB with no bumps or convictions... 427 quid through Swift Cover. Even less if you're prepared to live with a massive excess. With a quick car you've got to be pretty whiter than white to get a decent quote. Try putting the wife or other female on the policy, that usually works wonders.
