  1. No problem, glad it's sorted. Funnily enough the only issue I had in 70k mike's in my superb was the Columbus unit. Utter pile of expensive crap that was forever freezing, was ok if I just used the phone via BT for everything.
  2. I no longer have my superb but I think you have to put all 16 numbers into the phone not just a set of 4. My 61 plate superb certainly had the correct BT module to link to multiple andriod handsets from samsung, moto, oneplus etc.
  3. Anyone else not had a recall notice? I've had nothing from skoda since the initial letter(s) when the scandal broke. Cars not due a service for another 16 months and is running fine so not bothered to be honest, as I have no intention of having it done yet.
  4. You should check that the sound is set to the correct channel. Search on here, it needs to be on channel A or maybe B. You need to change it on a channel that's actually working. I had this with no sound from a few channels and it was sending me round the twist. I can't check my unit as the cars in a bodyshop getting repaired but I found the answer on this forum. I'll have the car back next week if you've not sorted it. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks, since realised that I couldn't open the bonnet easily like before so think the impact result may be greater than I thought. Not got time to bumble about so going to let the insurance sort it. Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
  6. A guy reversed into the front of my 2012 superb at lunchtime - minor damage to bumper etc and looked like a smart repair would sort it. But now I'm home and had a look the o/s/f xenon unit is loose and it's the mount on top of the unit that has snapped. His bumper was resting against the light. I presume this will be a new unit - I'd have liked to avoid the hassle of claiming on my insurance and waiting for an age to recover my excess but I know the cost of these units is massive. So any thoughts before I call up the insurance company. I'm actually not sure I should be driving it with a loose headlight anyway. Thanks Ian
  7. We just traded a seat altea xl for a Leon x-perience 4x4 2.0. Had the altea valued last year and was offered £5k and then 6 months later they gave us £5.7k...... I think they are maybe trying to quietly buy some owners out of the problem.. Got a £14k discount on the Leon as well. Me thinks Seat have suffered more than vw or skoda. 8. Although my car eats tyres my pads are still fine after 58k miles. Just been serviced and the dealer said they would last at least another 18k (to the next service) Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks all, been away for Christmas. It's due a 60k service in the new year and I will get the suspension checked. Had everything realigned at 30k due to uneven wear rates. I've now dropped the pressure in the rears as I tend to run then at the fully inflated pressure but never higher. Thinking of trading it before it gets to 80k miles and I have to have the dsg box fluids done so figure I'll need one more set before that milestone. Will let you know when the dealers had a look. 10. Hi No, it's a normal front wheel drive 2.00tdi, did have a week in france with 3 kids, 4 bikes on the towbar and boot stacked, and another trip into Germany with the same load minus the bikes. Cars not been used for towing for the past 18 months either (and not at all on this set). Mostly it has an overnight bag and a laptop in the boot. Not loaded heavily 90% of the time. Car mostly trundles up and down the motorways, the fronts are seriously like new and the backs were below 2mm across the whole tyre. Almost believe the guy at the MOT place and wonder if someone swapped them when i left it at the airport in the summer for 3 weeks... I've never had more than around 15k from a set of 4 but also the wear is normally consistent across all 4 - previously never been heavy on tyres until this superb - got 45k out of my old landcruiser and used to get 30k+ from the rears on a Mondeo (which covered 150k miles in 3 years).
  11. Hi Has anyone else suffered this? Car's in for an mot and whilst checking it over last night I realised the rear tyres are both probably fails, only had this set on for 9 months and 10/12k miles, fronts still have 6mm and look like new but the backs are both like slicks..... Wear is even across both rears. Decent Michelin on 18" wheels. Tyre wear has always been heavy but I've never had rear tyres wear like this set. Place doing the mot has checked for any faulty batch and said they should be fine, guy suggests they must have been switched from the front at some point but I know that's not happened. It's due a service after Xmas so if there is something that needs a check I'd be grateful for any advice. Thanks Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
  12. The reason I reason I think it's traffic info, is that when I've checked in the past the TP notice on the columbus has gone (I think on the radio screen). I just ignore it now.
  13. As said previously Traffic info lost.. Happens on my car often and it's always related to the signal dropping.
  14. I use aCar app on phone for car expenses and rarely get over 44mpg , did a 500 mile trip back from France with car fully loaded plus 4 bikes on a towbar mount and averaged 37mpg, very happy with that as was doing 80 mph most of the way. Previous car was a land cruiser and on a similar journey a couple of years ago I was getting 22 mpg. Don't think my driving style will ever allow 50mpg lol. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  15. Well I finally "solved" the issue, updated the phone to kit kat 4.4.2 last night and this morning the phone book populated fully. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
