  2. I have a 2012 Roomster 86 TSI SE with factory panoramic sunroof bought new. After a few months I found the front sunblind kept loosening and sliding towards the front of the car. I alerted the Skoda dealer who fitted a modification to the two blinds using two small magnets on each part of the sun blind to keep them together. This has largely been successful but during the past couple of months an irritating vibration/buzzing has emanated from the sunroof blinds. It is not present all the time and does not always go away when the blinds are open. I first thought it may be due to the magnets rubbing against each other so I attached some insulated tape to these and also some thin foam to the front edge of the blinds but this has not cured the problem. Does anyone on the forum have any clever ideas before this finally drives me spare. ????
  3. I have a 2012 Roomster TSI 86 and have had the rear passenger window open on its own on three separate occasions. It has always at this time been difficult to reset. Eventually got the window up by inching it to the top and switching off ignition. Complained to dealer who supposedly carried out a modification ( a felt strip ) and this has only repeated once since that time.
  4. It is always a good idea to warm the badge with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive before you start - makes it much easier to remove. Another option is to use a nylon fishing line drawn back and forth in a sawing motion, eliminates the possibility of scratching paintwork if you slip with the screwdriver !!!
  5. I have had a Roomster SE TSI 86 for just over a year now my first Skoda despite opposition from SWMBO. Certainly think a very under rated car, lovely to drive and with the panoramic roof lets in plenty of light on dull days. Very economical, only problem with sunblinds opening by themselves setting off alarm and rear passenger window opening by itself - both solved under warranty by dealer. Mine is in brilliant silver but have had black vinyl on both sides around the front side windows and along the top of the front wings ( similar to a scheme on the Czech market two tone vehicles ) and it seems to overcome the strange line of the car from heights of the front to rear doors. Also changed the front, rear and alloy wheel badges for those on the 2013 model - more attractive and less likely to suffer from water ingress problems than the green variety. All in all, love it to bits. !!!!
  6. You could try Kopacek in the Czech Republic - www.superskoda.com. They have genuine Skoda accessories as well as other makers bits for Skoda. I have dealt with them and had no problems and they will send worldwide.
  7. I have had this on my 2012 Roomster with nearside rear electric window. It happened on two occasions and could not get window up without difficulty - kept going up and down. Eventually after switching ignition off and on a few times it reset itself. I complained to Skoda dealer who had car back for a modification ( the insert of a felt strip they told me ) and it appeared to overcome the problem. Regrettably last week the same thing occurred with same window - eventually reset itself but if it happens again it will go back to the dealer- this really not good enough and I hope it does not occur on a very wet day this winter.
  8. Has anyone used one of these kits. I have come across two for the Roomie one made in Turkey which would cost £35.52 free shipping by Cockpit Design - these also sold by Superskoda at a well inflated price and one made in Germany at £ 40.99 + £5.49 shipping by Cockpit Dekor Shop via ebay. These can be in imitation wood, carbon fibre, aluminium or other finishes. Supposedly easy to fit using hair dryer and warranted for 5 years.I am thinking of the brushed aluminium variety, do they look good and do they really stick ???Any comments from you guys would be really useful, don't want to waste forty odd quid.
  9. Does anyone know where there is a list of these ?? Today my 2012 Roomster has had TPI 2028408/1 applied to correct bizarre rear window behaviour - passenger rear window ajar first thing in a morning and when switch applied to close, window goes up and down and refuses to close. Eventually this seems to reset itself but has happened on two occasions and I am concerned about this major security issue. My dealer tells me that they have fixed a felt strip on the window but I cannot see how this will affect this problem - how does the window open itself if it is a window which is rarely used anyway. I have read on this very useful forum of the bizarre window behaviour seemingly caused by wiring loom breakages, relay faults etc. Is this a problem I am going to have to contend with during the life of this vehicle ???
  10. I am surprised by your comments about the new badge. My 2012 Roomster had the old green badge and I replaced with the new black one also the wheel centres as per the 2013 model..The green badge is simply old fashioned and not really in keeping with the bright fresh modern image that the brand wishes to portray. It should also be borne in mind that the proud Skoda name used a similar version of the new motif long before VW came on the scene and they are only reverting back to that time.
  11. I had a feeling that Royal Mail were incorrect - this is not the first time I have taken issue with them over charges. I find the easiest way is to weigh it, check dimensions on the net and then tell the PO what the charge is. If ever there was an incompetent service this is it !!!. Hopefully when it is privatised it may improve but don't hold your breath. Cheers Bill
  12. Thanks Stuart, Roomster arrived this am. Lovely model, but not in fact silver - checking with Abrex website and box code it is really Cappucino Beige - doesn't matter but thought you might wish to know - although it does look like silver. Thanks again for your trouble and my apologies for the errors along the way.
  13. If you Google John AyreyDiecasts website and look under Abrex the makers colours are shown there. Note the RRP is £ 12.99 so these are a bargain.
  14. Hi Stuart, payment sent for 1 x Silver. My address:- 45, Sterndale Drive, Westbury Park, Clayton, Newcastle, Staffs ST5 4HS. If not available in silver please refund, many thanks. Frederick Thursfield ( bill 7437 )
  15. Hi Stuart:- are these in 1/43 or 1/72 scale ?? and do you have one in silver ?? I have a Roomster 10 months old and bought an Abrex 1/72 in Blue which was the only colour I could get at the time - but my own vehicle is silver and I would certainly like a 1/43 in that colour.. Also would you post if charge refunded ?? Cheers
