  5. My rear drivers is rattling over bumps etc, but I'm expecting it to be brake disc shield.
  6. Hi Guys, The light fault has been doing my head in. Im nearly 100% sure its the level sensors. Skoda garage and most ive been to havent a clue when i tell them. Brought it to Main dealer and told them exactly what the problem is, left the car with them. The scanned it and rang me back to tell me i had a light warning on my dash! Brilliant work. tried to tell me they replace a few bulbs a blah blah. i told them again what the problem was, ..... frustrating. any way car isnt fixed, dont trust them to do the work. its hard to get a good mechanic. Can anyone PM me contact details for one in Ireland, preferably Dublin area? Thanks
  7. Yeah, that's exactly what it sounds like. But no, haven't got a clue! Ver strange.
  8. Cheers, think I saw some threads about spraying contact cleaner in there! Must look them up!
  9. Thanks. I don't think it's from the dash body, more from something inside. Like air escaping, or crackling. Seems to have gone today!
  10. He guys, 1.9 awx, 125k miles, The last week I've noticed a crackiling noise that seems to be coming from behind the dashboard, around or coming through the centre console top vent area. Sounds like an old radio crackling. It also seems to go away once the car is warmed up, but last approx 10 miles in my morning commute. Any ideas?
  11. The autos are meant to be less reliable from reading forum post, also these superbs may leak at any stage of their lives, pollen filter, ecu, cable release, sunroofs, door seals, are all susceptible to leaking water, but fortunately preventative maintenance seems to be easy and effective, and plenty of info on forums! Check out water leaks and auto boxes! I believe that 1.9tdi awx manual are meant to be most reliable, but different horses for different courses.....
  12. Yeah, went to reputable Indy also, they didn't flinch at it... Should have said its a manual!
  13. Car has done 115k and getting serviced, timing belt also due shortly. By looking through the forums, gearbox oil and PAS seem to get changed about this time. Spoke to skoda garage, they didnt seem to think this was great idea, and that if its working ok, leave it alone. Similar thing with the PAS oil. If these items are ok? Should they be left alone, or is it best practise to completely change the fluids as opposed to topping up? Has anyone done this noted its effects, good or bad?
  14. Hey Guys, im looking to save a few quid and to start to service my car (1.9tdi awx), i have the passat haynes manual, but i was wondering does anyone have a link to a better how to on this particular car, i.e Oil change, filters etc, just the basic service items. Or, indeed does anyone feel like writing up something for the forum,(or me?)? Thanks!
