  1. Hi, Update No word from ATS as yet re; the faulty Pirelli Cinturato P7s that they sent back to the manufacturers for inspection, but keep you advised as and when I hear anything. Had the Michelin primacy 3's fitted just over two weeks and now much better setting the pressures to 33psi as recommended as was set at 38psi from the fitters and they also seem to be getting quieter... probably my imagination but a much smoother ride nonetheless. Steve
  2. Who knows... had the Michelins fitted and now very much quieter no bearing noise but not a lot of difference in the ride so will check the pressures tomorrow as not the first time have been over inflated from the tyre fitters!
  3. Hi and many thanks for the replies much appreciated, the Superb is the saloon and pressures are 33psi all round as recommended inside the fuel cap. I went to my local tyre dealer ATS in Eastbourne which they have seen this before on Pirelli's and also some Continentals as well and with there recommendations I have decided and ordered MICHELIN Primacy 3's They are also going to send the tyres back to Pirelli and if decided there is a fault with the tyres refund less what tread is left on the tyres. So will once fitted I will let you know what the ride is like etc... If I have done this right I have added photos of the offending item below. Thanks again for the replies Steve
  4. Hi, Skoda Superb 1.8Tsi 2011 19,000 mls It started last December about 500 miles after it's 2nd service what can only be described as an worn wheel bearing sound from 20mph onwards and gradually getting worse with the miles. I booked the car into the main dealer in Eastbourne to let them have a look which they said the tyres are stepping, that if you feel from across the tread there is a raised part of the tread in the middle of the tyre that is raised above the rest of the tread throughout the circumference of all the tyres. Has anyone else experienced this? The tyres fitted are from new are, Pirelli Cinturato P7, 225/45/R17. All tyres are evenly worn across the tread but had to change the fronts to the back recently as very near the wear indicators. The main dearer suggested Michelin as better suited to the car. Many thanks for any replies Steve
  5. Sorry no, I just asked them to check for an ECU update as this cured the misfiring fault on other 1.8Tsi which they came back afterwards to say there was an update and now car ok...
  6. Hi all, This is an update; Just had the 2nd service done which I mentioned the misfire and for them to replace the Skoda Auto round boot badge as showing signs of corrosion and hey presto... ECU has now been updated and no more misfire and now car seems more smoother and responsive too..! Also they replaced the badge which is a known fault under a service bulletin. Cheers and hope this info is of help. Steve
  7. Thanks for all the input... car due for its 2nd service next month and will ask about any updates for the ecu and keep you advised. Cheers Steve
  8. Yeh, tried the super plus fuels too, shell, Esso, BP etc without any noticeable difference, plus was just serviced before picking up last November around 7500k so assume all filters was replaced then!
  9. Thanks for the replies much appreciated... only misfires for the fist 20 or so seconds when cold no other times!
  10. Hi Guy's, Car now done 15k from pre-ownership purchase. The problem is, when 1st starting the engine from cold, mornings or when left 3-4 hours, there is a noticeable slight misfire that lasts 20-30 seconds then runs smooth. This happens all the time and no warning lights to indicate a fault. The car went back a few months ago for a faulty battery and was mentioned to reception staff who made a note of it but they could not find a fault. So just wondering if anyone has had this experience or if known as a fault? Thanks Steve
  11. Thanks, I don't suppose you know if the SE or S trim is pre-wired?
  12. Can the Auto dimming rear view mirror fitted to higher spec Superbs be fitted to my 2011 SE... easy swap or is there more to it, wiring etc?
  13. Hi, Reading a report recently that the VW group cars 1.4 Tsi petrol engines has a turbo and a supercharger and I am wondering if my 2011 Superb 1.8 TSI is the same, and if so what kicks in first, turbo or supercharger? Also has anyone tried Slick 50 PTFE oil additive in these engines whether it help protects the turbo etc... http://www.slick50.com/ourProducts/syntheticEngineTreatment.shtml Thanks Steve
