    Thanks All!  Took my car in to have FARB bushes replaced.  Work was suspended as the garage said I needed new clips as well as bushes.  They put everything back together so I could use the car and I arranged to go back when the other parts arrived.
    Well, to cut a long story short, I have not been back as the knocking has gone!
    Don't ask.  I just don't know!
