  1. skodaman66's post in EGR valve removel was marked as the answer
    HI folks
Problem solved It would seem that many  cars you can delete EGR vavle and thats it job done.
On my Skoda 90 TDI code ALH you do have to turn off on the Ecu  ( as  Member Mbames says above) I had actually done this before i read above responce thanks for your help
In my case I suspect i had not made a very good job of sealing  the vacume pipe that operated the EGR and so the ECU sensed low Vacume and put the engine management light on
    So thats it  job done
I hope this helps some one

  2. skodaman66's post in starter motor clutch sliping was marked as the answer
    Hi Folks
Problem solved nothing wrong with starter moter nothing wrong with flywheel and starter  ring perfect.
How have i fixed it well here's one for the experts amongst us
The answer egr valve sticking closed position stoping the eng sucking air in  and because the motor can not turn eng starter clutch slips
To prevent the problem just clean the egr vavle flap and also the inlet mannifold but be careful not push carbon back in the eng
I had  not checked for about five years about 10000 miles
I hope this helps other people
    Dirk
