john14's post in egr renewed but still getting same eml code was marked as the answerI do believe the egr problem has been resolved . I didn't realise at the time but have since found out that the glowplugs should also be replaced as they work with the egr valve to reduce emissions, I assumed the glowplugs only worked to start the car and not used when the engine is running. Since this was done the car is now running fine, I hope this helps others.

john14's post in changing the fuel filter was marked as the answerThanks all for your help, in the end I went ahead removing only the outer torx , the job went well,taking me around 20mins, then after replacing the old filter I topped up with diesel and then replaced the outer torx , turned on the ignition without turning the engine over a couple of times ,to pump a little more diesel through, then turned engine over, started first time without any stalling too. I purchased the filter from GSF who gave a nice 25% off the price of just under £20 .after reserving online before picking up.
