Not sure what they are doing when they are servicing it. They probably will just do the oil and filter I'm guessing. Is super unleaded a must then?

Yes I think that's the first thing I will do change the spark plugs just to make sure. Well better for the car more regular oil and filter changes you do. I know police cars are serviced twice a year. I will be doing about 8k a year.

I will be servicing the car twice a year like I have on my recent one. Air and pollen filter once a year and oil and oil filter twice in a year. Do you have to get the spark plugs changed at a garage then? I did it myself on my current car. When is the water pump do for changes?

Yeah from a trader. His getting it mot so I will have 12 months and putting a new tyre on. And service.

So if I find out this hasn't been done to the car can I go to skoda to get it done? Plus will there be a charge? Also I need to find out if the oil has been changed in the gear box I've been reading. Is this correct?

Bit ****ed off really the Fabia I've brought is a 62 plate so it will probably have the same problems as the CAVE engine then?

Didn't realise about problems with the early CHTE engines. So what did they change on the Early CHTE engines that's different to the later CHTE engines?

I'm buy a 2012 fabia vrs next week. How will I know if the car has had the gear box oil changed and if it hasn't been can I take it to a skoda garage to get it done?

Hi all new to the forum. I've brought a Fabia VRS estate 2012 with engine CHTE. I've been trawling the net and mainly seen people telling nightmare stories of engine and gear box failures especially from the earlier CAVE engine. Now is this like most reviewers only complaining about something when they've had problems? There aren't many good positive reviews is the because most people don't say anything when things are going well?
