Build Times for new Karoq
My Petrol Blue 1.5 SEL with Virtual Cockpit was ordered in July and had build week 34 assigned, it was built in that week but is incomplete and sitting in a field somewhere awaiting one or more chips! I guess the Edition models are deemed to be more important (and probably have a higher profit margin!).

My dealer said that it was Sheerness that was completely empty, not been there myself to verify how true that is though. Hope you don't have long to wait now....

Ah, OK. Got that completely wrong then and it looks like it's in the same position as my car - sat somewhere awaiting completion. Obviously then Delayed is sitting awaiting chips.

Oana, I think Banking is "in schedule for build' and Delayed speaks for itself, probably means no longer in the build schedule. I too found out that the seven digit order number will not work on the Australian order tracker. I contacted my dealer principal last evening and he said that cars are coming through in batches and said that last week he had 4 Fabias delivered and this week had 4 Kodiaqs but mine is still stuck at status 20. He also said that at the UK port the storage area was like a ghost town and in normal times there wold be thousands of cars awaiting delivery to dealers but now as they come off the ship they are going straight out.

Great news! Yours was b/w 33 wasn't it and it's an Edition model? My one is b/w 34 and a 1.5 SEL DSG with virtual cockpit and different alloys and spare wheel so hopefully will be following yours shortly!!

Chrome/Plastic trim discoloured
In one of the linked threads (above) someone was going to look into having the trims wrapped but did not report back. An internet search brings up loads of de-chroming and wrapping services which may be an option if you like the "black trim" look. If this happens to me it's the route I think I will take and get some black badges/logos to complement. Haven't got my car yet, it's parked in a foreign field somewhere awaiting semi-conductor chips.

I know how you feel, I've just had to have my Hyundai serviced, MOT'd and have two new tyres, it wasn't planned to be like that!!

So if it's consistent then I'm going to have to wait at least 6 weeks more if yours was week 28 and mine is week 34!

Build Times for new Karoq
Same here, just waiting for the "code 38" on my B/W 34 but my dealer expected the car before the end of Sept but I guess it's a lottery as to which cars get the elusive missing chips first, mine might be further delayed as it's got the Virtual Cockpit option and apparently that adds an additional "chip" problem.

That's what I would have expected. I'm guessing it's the dealer system that's the problem here and not the Skoda corporate system. This particular dealer system had a JAVA interface and the response times from to log-on and to navigate from screen to screen were appallingly slow.

I couldn't believe how long it took the dealer to log in to the system and get to the correct bit to find out what had happened to my car, it was a good 5 minutes from the start to the screen that showed it was at Stage 20, he's been at the dealer 7 years so I don't think it was that he was inept at getting to the right bit. Looks as though it's a really clunky system and if he had to go through that rigmarole for every car that was on order I can understand he'd be a bit reluctant as it seemed a huge waste of time. He did say to ignore anything from Skoda UK as their communications were not entirely up to scratch, I'd had the email some time ago telling me that my car "Will soon be in production" and that the next email would be when it was in production, it never came even though the car was actually built!

OK, went into dealer this morning with a view to canceling. He looked it up on the system and the car was actually built last week as scheduled but is now parked somewhere awaiting "parts". He said that the last two cars he received were delayed in that state for two weeks but then moved to "shipped" status and have since been delivered, couldn't promise anything at this stage but in all probability it will be 2-3 week delay depending on the part/chip required so a lot better than I was expecting. Kenfowler3966 Don't know but I did try and configure my 1.5 SEL petrol DSG just now and it said (I think) "not available contact dealer to discuss" so it could be only the edition is available.

Thanks, I've heard nothing from the dealer and it was supposed to be in build last week. I guess I won't be getting a car now and will have to cancel the order, I can't wait around forever as current car goes at the end of September.

I hope that things are on track. My order for a Petrol Blue 1.5 SEL DSG with virtual cockpit, Trinity alloy wheels and spare wheel is supposed to be build week 34 (this week)!
