Removing internal trim from rear hatch
I have a ream dash cam that I want to try and fit so I need to figure out how to remove the trim around the rear screen. I was hoping to find a YouTube vid of someone doing just that so I could see exactly how to do it, but as of yet I've not managed to find one. From poking around on here and online, it sounds as though it's held in place by spring clips around the edges, as indicated below...is that right? Are there any other clips or screws that need removing? And to remove the clips, is it just a case of swinging on them hard enough to spring them out? Any particular order?

Need to display Google sheet data on a web page...
Thanks Langers...I did originally try this but it seems to only be an option if you have a Google account. If you don't, then you can't open the doc. I tried sharing the link with a test user (that has no Google account) and following the link just takes you to the Google login screen. I know that quite a number of the people who need to access this don't have a Google account so it's not a solution that would work in this instance.

Need to display Google sheet data on a web page...
I have some data in a Google sheet that needs to be accessed by quite a number of people so I need to make it available to them online. I know this is dead easy in terms of sharing a link, but the data contains names and addresses so has to be treated in accordance with GDPR. Consequently I can't just pass out the link to the Google sheet, as anyone who happened to get the link would then be able to view it. I initially thought I'd just be able to add a password to the Google sheet but it appears (somewhat surprisingly) that it's not possible to do this. The only thing that it seems you can do is control which cells within the sheet are editable. So I'm looking at ways of making this available online but behind some kind of password protection. It would need to be kept up to date from the Google sheet (i.e. changes to data in the sheet would be visible). I know it's possible to render a Google sheet as HTML fairly easily, but from what I've seen that would require a link to the Google sheet to be embedded in the HTML, so anyone with half an ounce of know-how would be able to extract it and then access the sheet directly. I'm just wondering if anyone has done anything like this before? Or could give any pointers on the easiest way to achieve this? I've been having a nose around Google Web Apps scripts but I don't know if that's the best option or whether there might be an easier way to do this? Thanks

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2021
Thanks for the info The version info for mine is: 5L0051236T 0820 ECE1 2017/18 SHIELD: SHIELD 2016-44 (build 309) I've updated with the MIB2 files and appears to be working fine. I've got a backup of original files and I know the MIB2 works, so when I get a min I'll try the VW link above and see if that works too. Thanks again

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2021
Sorry if this is kinda obvious, but I'm new to the Amundsen update process. I have a '67 Octavia with MIB2 (at least, I'm assuming that's what it is!) and looking to update the maps. I've been to the updateportal.skoda-auto.com site and downloaded the latest ECE1 file, but noticed it was last updated in 2019...so in hunting down if there's a newer version I came across this thread. Am I right in thinking that the VW links at the start of this thread should work if downloaded and used in the same way as the Skoda ones?

AutoTrader fake buyers!!!!
Apologies for the rant, but I'm really hacked off! My mum is selling her old car so I got it onto AutoTrader and had a few sniffs, with one in particular showing a lot of interest. We spoke on the phone and he was asking about when the cambelt was changed, etc and we negotiated a price as well as a day for him to visit and see the car. I got slightly suspicious when he subsequently messaged to say that said his Dad had died so he couldn't come and view when we'd agreed...but he said he still really wanted the car, he had the cash ready and it would actually be his daughter who'd be coming to view/collect it. Arranged for her to come on Friday evening so I txt'd him on Friday morning to ask what time she was arriving and he then said it would actually be him coming after all and he'd come over on Saturday morning, around 10-10:30. Yeh, I know...the clues were there! Needless to say, he never turned up and is no longer answering any texts or calls. Why do people do this?! Do they really get some kind of kick out of it? OK, rant over....!

Are third party warranties any good for used cars?
Thanks Warrior...that very much fits with the vast majority of experience and reviews that I've read about such warranties. Think I'm going to leave it. Mum doesn't do a huge mileage and there's actually the remainder of the manufacturers warranty until March which should cover for anything serious until then.

Are third party warranties any good for used cars?
My mum just in the process of buying a used car (2018 plate Seat, 15k miles) and the inevitable question about warranty had arisen - the Seat garage have quoted £349 for an RAC Platinum warranty. Has anyone any experience of getting a warranty for a use car? I've never used one myself and poking around online seems to reveal a whole heap of horror stories about warranty companies being very adept at not paying out when a claim is made. I realise it's all about reading the small print, but just wondering if anyone has used one of these and has any advice on whether it's better to just keep the money that would be spent on the premium and put it towards any maintenance required? Thanks

Occasional noise from steering when reversing on full lock
Presumably this would be covered under manufacturers warranty? Think I have literally 2 weeks left till it runs out!

Occasional noise from steering when reversing on full lock
Just wondering if anyone can provide any info (and hopefully peace of mind!) re something that seems to happen randomly on my 67 plate Mk3 245. If I'm reversing on full lock (like reversing out of my driveway at home), just as the car is slowing to a stop before starting to pull away forwards, the steering makes a funny graunching noise and I can feel it in the steering wheel. It doesn't last long, just a second or so, and it appears to be fine once I've pulled away forwards. It doesn't happen every time...just every now and then and only ever when reversing on full lock. Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this? And more importantly, is it something serious that's going to need fixing? Thanks

CPU for dual streaming setup - Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7?
Yep, went for the 3700X in the end. Lead times were crazy due to covid so not actually received it yet...but should be arriving some time this coming week

Sorry...it's another spare wheel question :-\
I need to get a spare wheel for an imminent road trip (yep...I forgot all about it and now it's a rush job 🙄) so I've been having a poke around on here and online and now I'm a little confused. I have a '67 vRS 245 that has 225/35-R19 tyres and I'm trying to determine what size spare wheel to get. I did try a full size a while back but it pushed the boot floor up so just going to go for a space saver. What I'm wondering is what size space saver to go for...would this fit the bill? Thanks...

CPU for dual streaming setup - Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7?
I'm spec'ing up a desktop PC that will be used to stream to YouTube and am wondering about the processor. It will be used to stream live events (won't be used for gaming at all) and will need to stream to 2 YouTube channels simultaneously so will have OBS running twice, along with various other apps (PowerPoint, media player, etc) Whilst the budget isn't tiny, it's also not huge so I'm trying to make sure nothing unnecessary is in there. I've got RAM and SSD spec'd and it's just the CPU I'm wondering about. The options are a Ryzen 5 3600XT or a Ryzen 7 3800X, with the latter being around £100 dearer. If it makes sense to go for the 7 then that's fine, I just don't want to spend for the sake of spending. Just wondering if anyone with more knowledge than me on the subject could offer any pointers? Thanks

Boot liner/tray - which one...??
Is it this one that you got?

Boot liner/tray - which one...??
I've had a boot tray in my old Mk2 Octy for years which had a good sized lip around the edge, probably around 3 inches deep. I'm now looking for a similar thing for my Mk3 vRS hatchback, but can't seem to to find one with a similar sized lip - can anyone recommend? From the pics, it looks like the official Skoda mat only appears to have quite a small lip round the edge. For those who have got one of these, does it do a decent job? Does the lip hold dirt, sand, etc in? Another option is this one from Bootsliners.co.uk, which looks like it has a deeper lip, but I've never heard of, or used, them before so not sure if it's the same sort of quality - anyone got one of these? This one also appears to be a bit more shaped to the boot and is wider nearer the boot entrance, where the compartments are on the left and right. Wondering why this one is shaped when the official Skoda one isn't?
