Have any other Roomy Scout owners had any problems with the seats damaging their clothes?

The damage is in the lower back area and shows up as if something has been rubbing. It has affected T shirts, cardigans, polo shirts and even a waterproof jacket, where it removed areas of the waterproof coating. At first I thought it was only the passenger seat but I have noticed a similar, but not so severe, effect on my clothing.

Looking at the seat it seems to be caused by a seam in the seat cover across the lower back.

No, seats are not heated, at least not by the car.

Maybe not the seam but the fabric of the seats irritate the skin, when you wear short...

Fabric is kinda sandpaper :(

hmm from one extreem of the vrs seats not being durable enough! to the roomy ones being as tough as sand paper!

other than that maybe change the position your seats reclined to?

The simplest answer I can think of is either lumber pad or some sort of seat protector that sits between your (tender? :eek:) behind and the seat.

Several puns come to mind, but I'll spare you that.

I think there is some slight misunderstanding about the effect this problem is having on me. There is no damage to our persons, only our clothing.The only pain involved is when I have to open my wallet to replace the damaged clothes:mad:.

It definitely seems to be the seam on the seat that is causing the damage. It has also shown up on the drivers seat but to a lesser degree.

I have shown our local dealer the damage but only got "I don't see what we can do about that" as a reply. I've never had any car cause this in over 50 years of motoring, it would be a pity if we had to change the car as we are happy with it in all other respects.

At the moment we are driving around with towels draped over the seats. Now if only I could find some towels that matched the pattern and colour of the upholstery it would be fixed:thumbup:

have you tried sitting in a different roomster? maybe try it for a day or something with someone on here? you can then prove to skoda that the seat cover is mislined to cause friction and damage clothes?
