Breatpoint analysis using excel

Featured Replies

Trying to do a breakpoint analysis of a business idea me and some friends have. Put here as it's tech related :whistles:

Trouble is GCSE business studies was a loooong time ago.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Need to figure out if hardware costs x, and we depreciate over y, how much would we need to apply to each item sold to recover the costs given a pre determined sales (ideal) price.

Our heads hurt!

As a start, fire up Excel, press F1 then do a search in the Help file. You'd be surprised what you can find in there - and I'm NOT being sarcastic either. ;)

i'm not sure what your asking. Are you trying to generate a forecasting model so you can say, based on a unit cost of X and a sales price of Y we'd make N on each unit sold? minus capital expenditure and operational expenditure gives us

y-x-opex-capex=we got our figures wrong

obviously you'll need to do capex and opex forecasting models as well!
