I am thinking about ordering a 170 hp Elegance manual.I know they won some sort or towing award from the c/van club but can anybody help me with the tow ball weight of this car.I have a 105 hp suprb and the suspension is Very soft,I presume the new model is different,

give me till the end of the year and i will tell you from the horses mouth !!! i have ordered a 1.8Tsi DSG and plan to tow my caravan with it . in case you cant wait that long then you can read about the superb winning the overall tow car of the year here. the 170CR manual won and the 1.8TSi was highly commended. The DSG options got a mixed response but i took a risk as i want an auto for the rest of the year. I will simply but the box in manual mode and change manually when towing.

having driven the car extensively i can assure you it has none of the stodgy ar*e end characteristics of the superb Mk1. its a totally different car. i am sure it would not have won if it was not stable at the rear under towing.

popular colour / trim combination. Steel grey and rosso brunnello seem to be the most popular choices. Not our choice ! we went for satin grey as we prefer a lighter colour to a darker one. the rosso is very dark on overcast days - have you seen one in the flesh ?

Yes.Had a 5 minute test drive.Dont know how you guys in the UK can get 24/48 hr test drives,I had to travel 100 miles to drive the ONLY 170 Elegance in Ireland.!!Was plesantly surprised.The waroffice will drive it for about 3 years for work then I will take it over til it dies.Hope to put towbar on it ant tow our other house.Anyway I thought the car looked very well so it is either Red or Black.............DECISIONS

i wish ! i managed to get a 2 hr unaccompanied drive and a 1 hr accompanied drive. could get a 24hr one. did get 48hrs with Volvo and lexus. Audi - i get the keys and get to play as long as i like as long as its same day return.

Well Just done it.170 manual Superb Elegance in met black with cream interior and dark flooring.Hope I`ve done the right thing!!!!!

Glad to see you managed to sort your p/ex problems Kilkenny.

I'm a bit surprised that you've been quoted 1st week in January when I ordered the same model 10 days ago and was told end of January.

Maybe your dealer has a build slot that they could alter or if not then at least one of the dealers is quoting the wrong date.

Lets hope we are both pleasantly surprised eh?

Thanks 2slo.Yep he came up with a few grand more so I took it.Can buy a new 2009 Superb old model 105 for €21k so i took my cahnces quick and got rid of mine.Dealer assures me 1st week in Jan.I think it must be something to do with the build for Ireland.All the Elegance range come with everything as standard except park assist so I think they just build for stock.
