Hi all, I have been running my 2000 Fabia 1.4 16-valve since July. I have to say I am really impressed with the efficiency of this vehicle - the fuel economy is excellent.

I am currently averaging around 45mpg. Admittedly I don't do much urban driving, but this is during winter driving conditions and as can be expected my economy has dropped off since the summer! In the summer I was getting an average of 48mpg.

I'm really pleased as the whole reason I bought the Fabia was becuase I needed a more fuel-efficient car.

Anyone else out there with a 1.4 16v Fabia Mk1? What fuel returns are you getting?

I never look at the MPG figures as I don't trust them, but I get about 350 miles to a full tank, which I think is pretty decent. I fill up about 3 times a month.

I get 280-300 miles to the redline which equates to 33mpg

Thanks guys it's interesting to compare as is shows the trip computer figures must be at least semi-accurate. I'm getting 400-450 miles out of a tank. Nearly saw 500 miles out of one tank in the summer after a couple of long trips.

I get about 400 miles from a tank. On an average mixed town/country A road driving the trip computer reads around 50 mpg. I can get it to read closer to 55 mpg for a trip if I drive like a granddad although by all accounts the trip computer is optimistic. I think I'm probably getting closer to 40 - 45 mpg by manual calculation. I mostly use Shell V Power which gives me a bit more fuel economy and the car is well maintained.

I get about 330 miles from brim filled to light on with mine, but that is mostly commuting and few long journeys.

Usually around 45/46 mpg but fitted a new set of HT leads recently (damp killed the old set) and now spend a lot of the time on the red line!! Now getting around 41/42 mpg,which is about 350 miles to a tank.

Call me sad, but I keep a spreadsheet of the fill ups so I can get a good gauge of the MPG based on litres to miles, and computer mpg.

Average of 40.14 MPG (calculated) and 42.96 MPG (computer) over 15889 miles, giving a cost per mile of 11p.

Quite a good programme on iPod touch/phone that does this. It's called road trip I think. Not to bad considering the lite version is free.

I get an indicated 35ish on mine but I reckon it's lower that than in reality.
