When I turn on the lights (light switch to the right) and then push the light switch I get the last warnings showing up on the dashboard - is it normal behaviour or is it short circuit or another issue with electrics?

You can't further push the switch unless you had fogs on

You can push the lightswitch in when set to off but that facilitates removal of said switch. I will test this for myself later on.

Also when I push the the dashboard around the switch it's exactly the same issue - the warning lights are coming on: abs, power assisted steering and exclamation mark. The same lights when I push the brake pedal really hard whilst driving (it's OK when stopped).

I'm puzzled. It looks to me like a short circuit or issue with electrics.

Today I have had the fault codes read with VAG COM:
