luckily my cd player front wasnt in the glove box.

with minimal effort ive managed to snap the glove box release with cds and car sweets still trapped within.

anyone had a similar problem?

know where i can source new parts?

im up for fixing meself as im sure a dealer will have me eyes out...

its a fabia tdi elegance if that makes a difference?

new glove box door required , it comes complete with the handle etc

so just rag it open

Go to a breakers, get a new door only (don't need whole glovebox). Make sure you get the correct colour (grey or beige).

To open the door without pulling it really really really hard, I believe there's another way (search) but I took off the nearside side dash panel (pulls off) and drilled a hole in the (concealed) side of the dash so that I could release the door latch.

The door releases once open by prying the 2 pins sideways out of the bottom of the door.

If you break the underseat storage handle 2 days later like I did, that's a **** of a job!
