auto door lock problem

Featured Replies

We've got the auto-door lock feature turned on in our 2005 Superb. However recently, stopping the car for a short while (say at a junction or traffic) and then pulling away again, the rear passenger door randomly makes a "re-locking sound" despite none of the doors unlocking first.

It's going in for a service soon, but I'm interested if anyone has any ideas.

Probably a broken soldered joint in the door lock assembly, faulty microswitch or broken wire in the loom in the door jamb. All well known VAG faults - take it to a specialist (not a dealer) for a fix.

Hey Rotodiesel,

Saw your posts on this problem.

Do you know the part number of the Maplin part you mentioned?

Is the fix straight forward enough once the door trim is off?

Cheers,

Joe
