Airbag failure - on 03 Superb

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I had the passenger seat out of my Dad's superb to repair the corroded crimp joints in the wiring loom after we discovered the passenger side floor swimming in water. (Blocked drain hole under the bonnet, solution found on here:rofl:)

After repairing the loom, putting the carpet back the front passenger and rear seats back in, there is an airbag warning light that comes on when you turn the ignition on, then the maxidot display says there is an airbag failure. Obviousy, it's because I had the seat out and disconnected, but is there any easy way of clearing the fault ?

Thanks in advance, sorry about the ramble.

Did you turn the ignition on at any time with the seat removed?

If you did then that is why the light is on - the 'fault' is because the airbag was disconnected.

VCDS can be used to turn the airbag light off again.

Yep ! Turned on ignition to check my repairs on the wiring loom. Bu99er !

Thanks for the quick reply !

No problem.

Take a look at the VAG-COM owners map (VAG-COM is what VCDS used to be called) for a member near to you, send them a PM and they should be able to help you out for a few 'beer tokens'
