Night driving in the Estelle

Featured Replies

Just thought I would share...

I was driving home yesterday evening around 9.20 and I had Mark Radcliffe playing on the wireless and he played 'Computer Love' by Kraftwerk. As the music played, I saw reflected in the bonnet the tail lights of the cars in front, street lights and traffic lights (on green for a change). The glow of the PAL instruments, the thrum of the engine and hush of the tyres made me realise why the experience of the earlier cars cannot be matched by even the most expensive new cars.

You cannot see the bonnet stretching away in the new models, the engines don't have the same characterful sound and the view from the cab is just not so nice.

At night, the Estelles are almost magic!

That's a rather modern car, having a wireless set, such luxury!

Having said that I've been "old-timering" at the weekend,

certainly different to modern motoring....
