Variable servicing .... indicator on after 6k miles

Featured Replies

My Superb had 9K on the clock when I picked it up in September, it's on 15.2k now and over the weekend, without any warning or countdown I am getting the "Service Now" reminder in the Maxidot.

6k of virtually all motorway / A road driving, not much stop and start and it's not used at the weekend. I am thinking there may be a fault on the oil sensor or similar as the service indicator was reset at the last service but I am getting no fault codes in VCDS.

Anyone else had such a short turnaround in servicing :)

Have you been checking it, or letting it be? Are you sure it was actually reset before you aquired it?

Get someone to check with VCDS.

I have got VCDS so don't need anyone to check that for me :) and there are no fault codes and the service indicator was reset, I check the oil every week before leaving on a Sunday night for wherever I am heading to for work....

It's a mystery.

What does the oil quality reading show? IIRC bottom left of the screen where you can change intervals and dates etc.

Get it on fixed. You always know what's what then :)

Sorry though, can't think of a reason for the happening; very odd.

Are you sure it was actually serviced when you picked it up?
