yet another MFD3 thread.......this time coding

Featured Replies

A couple of questions for those of you in the know about the coding required following the install of an MFD3 in a car that has never had one.

Below are the details for the coding for an MFD2 taken from the Octavia-vRS site.

questions are:

1. are these settings the same for the MFD3?

2. how do I know if ive got a DSP Sound System or not?

CAN Gateway - Controller 19

This controller uses Long Coding, recoding should be carried out using the Long Coding Helper built into VAG-COM. Select Byte 3 and put a tick in Bit 3 to enable Controller 37 Navigation.

Radio MFD2 CD - Controller 56

Softcode should read 00412 for an Octavia fitted with 4 speakers (or more but not DSP Sound System), Cloth interior and a CD Changer

Navigation MFD2 CD - Controller 37

Softcode should read 00002 or 00004 if you have Phone Preparation

Just use the long coding helper built into VCDS then you cant go wrong. DSP system has a seperate amplifier doesnt it?
