I've found some good looking Passat 17" Wheels, to use for the winter months - but will they fit my superb 2? (Estate 4x4, currently with 18" Thermisto wheels)

They are 5x112 - 7.5x17" ET 45.

I believe ET to be 46 on the superb - is that correct?

Superb has 7,5J x 17" ET49 5x112x57. I think it is always better to find wheels with the exact ET.

Yes they will fit, the tyres may be a different story though? although if you are fitting winter tyres on them then that will not be an issue.

ET is the wheel offset measurement in mm i.e. the distance from the centre line of the wheel to the inside face of the rim

or put another way how far past the middle of the wheel the hub projects.

A differance of 1mm between ET 46 and 45 will make no detectable differance.

If you put rims with a big differance from the correct ET then the tyre may rub on the suspension or wheel arch especially when cornering.
