Deposit taken on a new Yeti

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! I'm new here and excited that I have just bought a new Yeti, 4 x 4 petrol engine car. However, I would dearly like some advice. I ordered the car in January from a garage in Nottingham paying £500 deposit and being assured that if I was able to source a Yeti earlier they would refund my £500. I've found one nearer home in Derbyshire and the Rainworth Skoda garage in Mansfield Notts refuse to refund my £500. On Track my skoda is was due around 22nd week of the year, advisory time. I was told that they are in such short supply that if I didn't go ahead with the purchase they will be happy to have the car to sell themselves. The sales guys have now been put in a difficult position by their Director because he has previously refunded deposit to others. Is this discrimination? How do I resolve this? I have written (no reply) I have left messages (no reply) This man, John Atherton, is not being fair and honest and avoidant in talking to me. Not good representation of Skoda? Thanks, I would be grateful for help and advice. Marleygirl.

Welcome

In your situation I would probably visit the dealership on a nice busy day and explain to them in a nice loud (but pleasant) manner that you are not happy with their customer service so that any prospective buyers in there can see them in their true colours.

Do you have it in writing that they would refund your deposit?

I thought if the dealer puts the car into stock, rather than sending it straight out to a customer they get charged a fee by Skoda?

Kind of a way to stop dealers over ordering and causing long queues at the factory.

Yes, we get charged to 'de-tag' a sold unit. The system is in place for the very reason Richard has mentioned above.

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda

  • 2 weeks later...

I WAS TOLD BY Rainworth Skoda THAT THE CARS ARE BEING DELAYED BECAUSE OF THE JAPANESE EARTHQUAKE AND THEY CAN'NOT GET THE PARTS TO BUILD THE CAR

SO WHY ARE SKODA INTRODUCING AN SE+ RANGE WHEN THEY CAN'NOT BUILD THE CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE

MINE WAS ORDERED IN FEBUARY AT Rainworth Skoda AND I'VE NOW GOT A BUILD WEEK OF WEEK 41

I'VE MISSED OUT ON AN (11) PLATE COMPLETELY. SEE IF I CAN GET ON A (61) PLATE OR WILL IT BE A (12)

Grrrrr.
