Hi,

I have an 55 plate octavia 1.95tdi estate and came across a strange problem this evening driving home.

Noticed the steering was a bit heavy then spotted the yellow steering warning light on the dash, then I noticed the speedometer wasn't working at all and the fuel gauge was constantly going up and down!!

Bit of a coincidence that all 3 failed at the same time, could this be a bigger problem that's going to cost me??

Anyone any ideas??

This is almost certainly a fault with the auxilliary drive belt, or possibly the alternator. I think a physical inspection would be required to say which.
