DMF to SMF convertion (clutch)

Featured Replies

Hi, wanted to know if somebody has experience with converting a double mass flywheel system to single mass flywheel. Most obviously it is DMF that gives a metalic knocing sound(time to time) and will cause problems soon. As it is bit too early(less than 100k miles)I would appreciate if somebody had experience to convert to more reliable technology and could share it with members. Engine code BXE, Gearbox JCR. Thank you!

Just had my 2007 Octavia converted to SMF with the Valeo conversion kit. Mine is a BXE engine and the Valeo part number is 835035. I couldn't be happier. The car is SO much better to drive and mpg seems to have improved as well. The DMF started to make noises around 95k and whilst it prob still had some life in it, thought it would be better to get it changed. Kit cost £321 from Euro Car Parts. £250 to get it fitted but money well spent. No vibration of any sort; drives like new!
