service

Featured Replies

some while ago,i took my 2000 1.4 MPI fabia for a "FULL"service.to my surprise this amounted to the inspection and hunting for what other charges they could add;

J KEANE & SONS (ROS) LTD Lanesboro street Roscommon

full service =oil change/top up fluid levels

informed boot doesnt open and requires attention(they meant when you pull the lever by drivers seat it doesnt work)

requires rear shock buffers? rear wishbone bushings? as there is no wishbone on the rear i can only suppose they mean the front wishbone rear bushes but not sure

That sounds fair enough to be honest!

Most reputable garages, while carrying out a service, will also perform a cursory inspection. It's actually specified in the service books of most new cars.

The problem is not them inspecting the car and informing you of any issues (however small), but if they were to go ahead and fix the problems and order parts etc without your permission. If that hasn't happened, then happy days.

Oh, and it will be the rear bushes on the front wishbones, it's a very common thing on the Fabia.

Could be main bushes (only one bush each side on beam axle)on the rear beam axle as these do "go".....and the rear shock buffers are prob the bump stops on the rear dampers (orangey coloured pur foam things that join the black plastic skirt to the top bracket for the damper)... B)

Its quite fair that these parts on a 2000 car would be needing replacing.
