door speakers

Featured Replies

any suggestions on what i should change my speakers too? because the standard ones arnt the best quality so i would just like a few suggestions..

Have you changed the head-unit yet, you'll get a good improvement in sound by doing that. The standard speakers aren't actually that bad once they've got something with a bit more juice powering them.

I use the oem head unit but with an external amp using the periods. I found that to help the oem speakers. If you go aftermarket then look also at an amp to power them as they will be quieter

The front door speakers are apparently OK, at least in the VRS where they have separate woofers and tweeters. Not sure all Fabias have that config though. Though they're rivetted to the door carrier and some have had buzzing issues.

2 upgrade paths.

1/ Buy a BFO head unit with a large power output.

2/ Buy a decent set of component speakers and an amplifier to power them.

Option 1 is probably easier to accomplish initially.

Though option 2 will likely play louder and clearer in the long term.

Suggest upgrade path.... New headunit. If what you're after is better low-end/bass reproduction (and I don't necessarily mean boy racer thump thump thump thump playing drum n' bass) get a subwoofer with amp - check ebay as they can often be cheap if someone starts one at 99p for collection only. From here the next logical step is component speakers and an amp. A 4 channel amp can power both front speakers and subwoofer with one channel for each front, and two in bridged for the sub.

I fitted some Alpine components into mine, made a massive difference even run straight off a basic Sony head unit.
