Apparent reset mid journey

Featured Replies

My 54 plate 1.9TDI 130 Comfort has just begun to show the problem that others had reported with the top third of the multi dot display coming and going, and I'm not overly bothered, but this morning on the way to work all the lights on the dash lit up for an instant and then the clock went back to 0, the trip meter went to 0 and the computer reset to 0 hours. Driving just carried on as normal and it has behaved itself for the 50 miles since, but is this something that other people have experienced and does it need attention?

Sorry if you've already done this, but did you check for damp or water under the carpets?

Ah! Aware of the water ingress problem, I have been checking the carpet in the passenger footwell quite often, and that is dry, but I have just gone out and looked further, and there is a definite wet patch under the passenger seat...

Sounds like you know what to do...
