2013 Superb in production from week 22

Featured Replies

I spoke with Skoda today, via email. They state that the 2013 Superb is on the production line from, and including, week 22. Supposedly there are no "significant" changes, what ever that is supposed to mean. I could not quite get them to tell me what changes if any. But when I wrote "so no changes what so ever?" they simply replied "nothing significant".

And, as I understand them, certainly no facelift and LED lights.

So, does anyone know what the changes from 2012 to 2013 will be - if any? I know there are some dealers on this forum too. Maybe you can enlighten us?

Thanks :)

Surely there must be some cosmetic changes given the fact they went out of their way to cover the front and back in dazzle camouflage when road testing it.

Unless the face lift isn't due until next year perhaps? Maybe this is merely a standard MY13 update where they tinker with a few minor bits here and there.

Could it be that the cars we've seen all covered up is the Superb Scout or something like that? Skoda has confirmed on their Norwegian Facebook page that the Superb Scout is on its way.

Or, as you say, they're just a little early on testing the 2014 model. That's probably a facelift if 2013 is not.

One other thing I remember my dealer has commented on is that sometimes when VW says "new car", Skoda says facelift. He exemplified with the Octavia mk II vs Golf where VAG claimed it to be a new car whilst Skoda just said facelift.

Guess we'll see soon enough if Geneva has something up its sleeve. Starting on March 4th.

No FL models before May 2013 is my information. Which means, with a little bit waiting for all engines and options available, the new Superb for me at beginning of 2014 :)

I think there may be some muddle with 2013 MY, and the car coming out in 2013. There will no doubt be some minor spec changes to the 2013 MY. But there will be minor 'midlife' facelift in 2013- new grill, rear lights and bootlid line. Skoda are releasing the Citigo in the summer, the Lauretta in September. The new Octavia is due in 2013, which is going to be bigger than the current model to make a bit of distance bewteen the Lauretta, new Superb due end of 2014/early 15.

So Ive been led to understand anyway.......
