BUZZ on throttle pedal

Featured Replies

Hello all, Ive recently ( past 2 weeks ) been noticing a buzz ( felt through my foot ) on the throttle pedal. This has been happening at low revs such as when moving off from a standstill.

Myself and the AA patrolman checked the car over for loose bits under the front bulkheads and found nothing loose but a roughness

( rumble ) on the clutch pedal. I took a guess that vibration must be linked the roughness in the clutch pedal traveling along the pedal box or bulkhead to the throttle pedal. The car has covered 207,000 and the second clutch and D.M.F. was needing replacement anyway so I did it using a Sachs kit from Darkside.

Anyway the clutch is so light and smooth now Im pleased I did it, BUT .... The buzz on the throttle pedal is still there ....So my question is ... Has anyone else with a Mk1 experiences of something ive described? Any input would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks guys

i doubt you will be feeling anything related to engine vibration, as i believe the octy 1 has a TPS at the pedal so no cabling or direct connection to the block. I dont know what it is though, only what it shouldnt be.

Thanks for the reply Lofty. I agree with your comments that there is no direct link from the motor etc. That`s what makes this all the more puzzling .....

your not having a funny turn and getting pins and needles or anything? Or can others feel it too? Does it have a pattern, particular times when it happens? Can you make it happen?

No, its got nothing to do with anything like that. Its a genuine buzz / vibration ... Yes the AA guy felt it... even through Doc Martin boot - soles :giggle:

loose connection is only thing i can think of.
