DRONING noise........

Featured Replies

Hi, i recently bought a 59 reg octavia 1.9tdi. from local dealer, won't mention any names here....The car has only covered 30k. 1 years warranty inc.

Thing is between 30mph and 50 there is a droning noise from front.... Phoned dealer and explained and took it in, bearing in mind I live 50miles from garage. They test drove it and couldn't hear the noise but when they had it on lift said "one of the front wheel bearing was starting to go"..

I've just had wheel bearing done and brought it home only to hear this droning noise again............. very annoying........ Has any one experienced this problem ....... I've not phoned dealer back as I'm ticked off about this.!!! but I -will when a get some feed back from you guys.

Any help or advice would be greatful.

PD Power.

Hi & sorry to hear about your problem. 30k is very early to be having wheel bearing related issues but not inconceivable. It may be worth checking out your tyres as I've had similar problems in the past. Try swapping front to back & see if that makes any difference? Tyres can present problems even when there's no apparent visual evidence. Best of luck

Hi, thank you robk1 got rear tyres checked out, passenger side was like an egg. Got new maxxis winter tyres fitted on spare rims and swopped front wheels to rear. I'll phone garage up today and see what they say. Hopefully get 2 new tyres out of them. :-) . 2 people in my area have also experienced this problem but they both hav seat leons.

Thanks for all your help
