Amundsen+ / Columbus Phonebook

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a problem with my Amundsen+ Phonebook. The Maxidot display and head unit both display surname, first name rather than the normal way of first name and then surname.

I cannot figure out how to change it - please help!

My buddy also has the same problem with his Columbus and fiscon Bluetooth system.

It's driving us nuts and if you know how to fix it there's a drink in it for you if you get out to Denmark.

In the "Telephone" menu, select "Settings" Now select "Phonebook" then scroll down until you find "List" - choose the relevant "Surname" or "First Name" as you wish. Now scroll down and select "Back" enough times to exit the menu. Should be OK now. :)

Ive got a bolero and factory fit bluetooth. I recall that happening on mine but im sure there was an option in the maxi-dot that had the option to change it.

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for your help. I have managed to sort it on my friends superb with the Columbus installation but there is no option on mine with the Amundsen+. I am about to write an email to the dealer to ask for help. If you have any further ideas would really appreciate it.

According to Skoda Denmark the Amundsen+ can't change the order of names in the telephone book. I took the car into the dealer which I purchased it from and they played with the car hooked up to the computer for over an hour and couldn't find a solution.

In addition the navigation system doesn't work well at all on the superb. Apparently if you after fit the head unit as is often done here in Denmark due to taxation reasons, the ariel supplied is not long enough and fits just under the dashboard. It is hindered by the metal bar under the dash causing it to not work properly.

My problem is now sitting with Skoda DK as someone has to pay to get this all working like I was told it should.

I have a Superb fitted with a Amundsen+ as well (I did the retrofit myself). The names are displayed correctly on the MaxiDot display, and the navigation is spot on, and the signal is there the very same moment you turn on the ignition. . You might need a new GPS antenna, since mine works great, and is fitted under the dash as well. They can be found cheap on the Bay.

If you insist, an OEM "shark" antenna can be obtained from Skodateile.cz. It´s not cheap though.

Hej GaSelle,

That is very interesting indeed. Do you think you could take a picture for me of the Maxidot and Telephone Book on your Amundsen+? I need to show it to Skoda in Kolding who are dealing with the case. And as soon as you syncronised your phone book it appeared correct? Do you use an iPhone?

I see your in Denmark - do you have the new Skoda Superb II? I have tried using my navigation system in Hobro, Aarhus and on a route from Aarhus down to Zingst in Germany and it hasn't worked at anytime and come up with some severe accuracy problems. I am waiting to hear back from the leasing company as its a company car on what they wish to do.

But it's great to see that you have it working - gives me some confidence.

I will try, when I can get hold of the car (SWMBO has taken control of it - I´m forced to drive the Aygo to work!). But I have to say, not many of my contacts has lastnames

And yes, I have an iPhone 4S. My car is a Superb Ambition Greenline Combi 2011, so that must be the "new" Superb II :) It sounds to me, like you have a defective GPS antenna or a faulty headunit.

I would really appreciate it if you could especially an example where you have both a firstname and surname displayed correctly. If you live in Jutland ill even drive to meet you and take a picture myself (I'm driving to KBH on Monday so if its on route let me know) as Skoda Danmark don't believe it can be done!

Seems like you have the new Superb too - hope your happy about it! It I do feel bad that your in the Aygo...hope you get your car back soon :)

P.s. they've admitted the fault with the Navigation attenne and will rectify it next Tuesday but they don't believe the phone book can be displayed changed...

The car has been at the garage now for 3 days - it will be back tomorrow. Just got a mail back from the dealer saying that they have solved the problem with Navigation, apparently the internal antenna suffers from intereference with the wiring for the heated screen (strange as I dont have that) but thats solved. And they've installed a new bluetooth system which correctly utilises the phone book.

I think its a Fiscon system but will post more when I get the car if anythings changed.

Oh and 40 posts and im still a newbie....
