Ibiza SC Cupra

Featured Replies

Hi, looks like drivethedeal have the Cupra with an effectively vat free offer. £3700 off list price makes it £14800.

Was thinking about this to exchange the fabia.

It likely has the new engine and standard equipment over the vrs include:

Xenons

Satnav

Climate

Cruise

Bluetooth

Auto wipers

Auto lights

Hill hold

I repeat, all the above is standard over what the vrs has. That's about £2000 quids worth.

The only thing it loses as far as I can see is back doors. I don't have children so for me no biggie. Looks are obviously subjective but works for my eye.

What are people's thoughts?

the vRS has hill hold, but I'm being pedantic.... seems a really good deal, I only discounted (didnt look at) the seat because of the cost, and thats a good price, i think it looks better than the fabia for a start...

At that money it would seem a better buy than a vRS...if you don't need 4 doors, which I do.

I believe you can add leather and a brake upgrade, but then it would be £17k+ and then rather too pricey IMO.

A great bargain I would say, and as it'll undoubtedly drive better than my wife's Copa 1.4SE, it'll definitely be a fun drive! Anyhoo, I've just come back from Germany where I rented an Ibiza FR which had auto wipers and I have to say they severely tested my patience. When selected to any speed, even intermittant, they'd randomly go to different speeds which necessitated me constantly switching off and then back on again to get the selection I'd originally selected. When I tried leaving them off all together, thinking they'd come on when needed, they resolutely stayed off! Maybe the wiper system had a fault, but if not, then there's a lot of development work left to do. Maybe it was the wrong sort of rain? :D

I've had 2 vehicles with Auto wipers - BMW 1-series and the Scirocco. Both rely on the windscreen being very clean to work properly I found. The BMW was terrible when I got it, yet after a new set of blades it worked quite well. The Scirocco version was quite good but would occasionally decide to try and wipe a dry screen - and then try again...and again...when you get that almost white fine spray off roads that dries on contact with the screen. Nice feature, but not a dead loss given the Fabia doesn't have it. I don't miss it.

I did consider the Ibiza a few years back, but was lured by the 5 doors of the Fabia. I just couldn't get on with the Ibiza dash on first impressions though - put me off. I did look again when the ST FR came out but still couldn't get on with the dash for some reason. Don't know what it was, but didn't put me at ease when I got in it (unlike the Fabia - I like uncluttered). Maybe it was the digital bar fuel gauge?

Amazing amount of fun car for the money! The interior plastics arent great but for that price I wouldnt complain. It also benefits form the later platform to the Fabia as per the A1. If only the engine had a more reliable reputation I'd be seriously interested in replacing our second car with one.

Folding mirrors also standard if they're of interest...

I had auto lights and wipers on my 1 series and they worked very well. Not a feature I miss on my fabia however. I'd pay probably £50 quid for them as options. No more.
