ESP fault light on on start up

Featured Replies

Went to start my 2009 vrs cr yesterday morning and as I turned the key it flashed up ESP fault on the dashboard and an audible sound but the light went out after a few seconds.

So I switched off and tried it again but this time with no fault warning. I have used the car several times since and no more fault warnings or lights. I have also switched the ESP on and off and still no more errors, I hate it when this happens, if its a one off and its sorted itself then that's fine. I wondered if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them, I have searched the forum and noticed there a lot of posts relating to the ESP but none the same as mine.

Mine did this morning and a test restart showed nothing

Without a fault code check its anyones guess.

No light on the dash just a message on Maxidot which went out after a second

Very strange, where would a fault code appear? Sorry if its a stupid question!

In the brake ECU.

What's you battery like? Mine would bong and throw up the esp and red steering lights as I turned it off, I didn't get any faults logged though. Since I had the battery changed it hasn't reoccurred.

I had this, it needed a new ABS module..common fault.

I'll see if it does it again and then report to the Dealer
