Columbus is silent?

Featured Replies

Columbus unit has been working perfectly normally until this morning.

For reasons I will never understand, SWMBO insists on turning off the radio before getting out of the car. I got in this morning, turned it on - and nothing. Not a sound.

Now for some reason it seems to think it's stuck in voice command mode. Moving the volume knob just gets a "Voice" bar at the bottom of the screen, but the voice volume doesn't change.

Using the left wheel on the MFSW gets the same result. Pressing it doesn't do anything at all.

I've got a long journey tomorrow. Any way of switching voice commands off for the time being?

Sorry to state the obvious and not to insult you but did your good lady leave it on and you turned it off, I am sure that you have tried it but thought I would ask.

Just re-read the post.

Try rebooting the system - press three buttons (<, > & i) at the same time.

I've tried switching the engine off - is that not the same thing?

No.

Sorry for the late update. However, I got back in the car on Tuesday after work and everything worked as per normal. I didn't have to reset anything.

Thanks for the suggestions

Mine sometimes goes silent, for no apparent reason. Must be a glitch in the installed firmware. I use the reset method described above to get it working again
